I started giving cereal for his 2nd feeding, around 10:00 or 11:00. That seemed to be best because he wasn't starving, but he was hungry. Now he gets fruit around 10 or 11 and cereal for his dinner feeding, around 5 or 6. He gets excited now when he sees the bowl. Good luck!

My daughter is the same age and a nurse advised me to give rice ceral when they first wake up in the morning followed by b/m or formula and then vege's around 4pm this is on a 4 hourly feeding shedule. Sometimes she is grumpy and wants her formula first and then eates her solids but usually she is pretty good.

My 4.5 mo old daughter wakes up at 6 I give her a bottle, then she sleeps til 10ish and I give her cereal at that feeding cause shes in good spirits and receptive.. then I give her cereal at her dinner feeding which is between 5-7... don't give it to him if hes not in a good mood.. You can start giving it to him anytime during the day when he's in a good mood and then once he's used to it and wants it as soon as he sees the bowl give it at his breakfast and dinner feeding..

Hello! I had the same problem with my son. I try feeding now at earlier times, around 10 am. That way, I can monitor how he's dealing with the food, too. Especially when starting with new types of food. My son had diarrhea when I started him on some fruit juices. So now I carefully observe his stool during the day.
