Just curious because I have heard so many different opinions on the matter.... How often do you do tummy time with your little ones?

I do it whenever my daughter wants too. Now at 5 months she does it on her own. I will lay her on her back and she just keeps rolling over on her tummy. She is happy for as long as she is on her tummy. It just varies on the time with my little one.

My son, Austen is quite happy to be on his tummy for 5-10 mins at a time now. I usually put him on his playmat with the toys unclipped & just laying in front of him. My older son, Jemaine hated tummy time with a passion. I could never get him to be on his tummy for more than 30 secs. He ended up with a slight torticollis (head slight tilted to one side, or favor one side). We had to take him to pyshio & she encouraged to carry him on his tummy like he was a flying superman. That strengthened his neck quite quickly for tummy time. We still had trouble getting him to do tummy time, compared to our Austen, but a definite improvement.

From the time my son was 2 weeks I just started putting him on his tummy every time I had to sit him down if he was awake. He loved it. He now is starting to not like it as much and rolls himself on his back instead. But, he does do it longer if I get down with him. Also, try a safe mirror on the floor so he can see himself, or picture of the family or even magazine cutouts of other babies. My son prefers that to toys and he wants to look at them so he has to stay on his tummy to do it.

Nana, what I do is I put him down on a mat covered with a blanket. I put him on his belly. I will place some toys just out of his reach. I will sit right in front of him so he has to lift his head up to see me. I will play with the toys trying to get him to do the same. I will keep him like this until he is really fussy. If he fusses a little just try to distract him....until he is just done with it...but not to upset becasue I will just flip him over and work on rolling over with him. I take one of his legs and push it up and over (the opposite leg) and say "roll over roll over" (kinda in a song form) he gets a kick out of it!
You can try many things but tummy time is VERY IMPORTANT so just try to find what keeps her happy and interested.....the hardest part for me is finding the time :) good luck

I do it as often as he will let me! It helps build those mussels for rolling over, holding his head, crawling, sitting up....everything! My son rolled over for the first time just past 2 months and I believe it had alot to do with how much tummy time he gets.
I have learned if you get on the floor and play with them they will stay there longer. if you have time :)

I pretty much do it a couple times a day for as long as she will do it. But since I have a 2 year old and a 3 year old it doesn't always work out as planned. The older two are still working on watching out for her and being careful with her. They love her but their "love" is not always good for her. I usually try to get a little in during their nap and just after bedtime.
