Most antidepressants are safe while nursing but the safest known are Zoloft and Paxil.
Zoloft and Paxil. Based on all the studies' results, these are the "drugs of choice" for breastfeeding women, Wisner tells WebMD. Infants exposed to Paxil and Zoloft had undetectable levels of the antidepressant in their blood.
Antidepressants will take between 1-3mths for you to finally feel "balanced" out. Nursing your baby more frequently will also help you to relax more and also help with the depression because oxytocin is released while nursing which is quoted to be the "happy hormone."
I hope this helps :)
