I'm always hungry and I eat a ton of food and drink a ton of water all day long! I know I've read somewhere that you burn close to 300 calories per nursing. So, obviously, if your baby nurses 8-10 times per day, you're burning way more calories than you're used to eating! This is why mothers who nurse almost always lose the baby weight so much faster that mothers who don't! I say.... keep eating!!

i was the same way. i found that keeping snacks readily available really helped me to snack healthy. i would cut up apples, oranges, have grapes washed and taken off the stems, etc. and put them in snack size baggies or containers in the fridge. and make sure you keep up with drinking water!

There are days I feel like I still have my pregnant hunger pains! It's amazing how hungry and thirsty I get throughout the day while nursing my little guy. I think as he goes through growth spurts-our bodies need more energy to keep up the supply to feed them!
