Hello Beautiful Obama Mamas,
I have been given the great privilege of becoming the new Obama Mamas administrator. With this political climate, it should not be too difficult to have this group share thoughtful, helpful, and inventive comments, questions, and ideas. I look forward to being a part of this creative process, and if there is anything I am missing, please do not hesitate to let me know.
As a mom, I believe it is our duty to do our best to ensure we are continually creating a world worthy of our children, and our children’s, children—protecting the interests of the next seven generations is something that occurs with Love and Peace as guiding forces. We have all self-selected to be members of Obama Mamas, which by definition means that we likely share similar life views and priorities. I am excited and honored to be a part of this group and what it believes in and stands for!
A bit of background: I have been hyper-politically aware ever since my son was born five years ago. I am an Obama supporter and a proud Obama Mama member. I am the author of Alphabet Living (a book of simple truths . . . reimagined), an editor / writer, and a psychologist. My most important priority is being a Present mom for my son. I abhor bullies, love coffee and wine (but am unfortunately allergic to both), and I think Circle of Moms is a terrific venue for women. I look forward to communicating with those of you who choose to participate. We are over one-hundred thousand strong!
A bit of policy: No T.H.U.M.P.S. (Threats, Hate Speech, Unlawful Use, Misrepresentation, Personal Attacks, Spam). Please be respectful. I want this to be a forum where people feel safe. If you have ideas, share! If you have frustrations, share! Just keep the conversations flowing in a positive manner. You can always fall back on the Golden Rule for guidance (i.e., would I like it if someone said that to me?).
We have choice on how this group evolves. I choose to make it fun and informative, but I need your help. I have some ideas for contests, and if this group progresses as swimmingly as I think it will, we can carve out a calendar of events. Let’s support each other in this Journey of being a woman, a mom, and an Obama Mama.
You are not alone.
