Supreme Court Decision on Affordable Care Act aka Obama Care

I'm very encouraged by the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) decision on Obama Care. I was wondering how other people are viewing this decision, and or what you think of the Affordable Care Act (ACA)?

I would prefer Universal Health Coverage because I think for profit Insurance Companies are awful. Their primary concern is not the patient, but the dollar. Having said that, I do think the ACA is a move in the right direction. I don't know how the US can go to Universal Health Coverage unless the Insurance industry fails.

I agree with the both of you. It isn't the best plan. I don't like people forcing me to pick a plan either. I agree. Insurance companies are going to make the most money because people will have to buy an insurance plan. Well, now that we have a start, hopefully they will tweak it and rearrange it. Republicans are fighting hard against it which I find as a plus, because, they will want this bill re-written. Well see what happens. It will be interesting.

I would prefer to see us being able to pick our own insurance even looking across state lines. there's not enough competition amongst the insurance companies because our choices are limited by state lines. I don't want universal healthcare because its the middle class that will have to pay for it with more taxes, our children and our grandchildren will be paying for it.

I agree Melissa, I see it as a start.

I have shared elsewhere my view that the worst thing about the health care law is that it still allows for-profit insurance companies to exist. I’m all for capitalism, but within reason. When companies can make a profit and call the shots on our healthcare, then we have a problem; and we do have a problem.

The healthcare plan is a start. It is not the best plan but, it is something to work on. I am for it because my daughter is a diabetic and she has always had a pre-existing condition. My son has ADHD and it is important that I be able to have insurance for my children. I work but, insurance companies are picky about who they will cover due to certain conditions.
