why do we get so upset when people post on the "wrong" board? I think that's what's wrong with the world today...nobody talks to people who disagree with them, then when we do, we assume they are out to get us.
I think if we believe in our convictions we should have no problems defending them.

I love opposing views as long as they remain respectful. It makes it way more interesting than when everybody agrees with one another.

see...I don't think they are making fun of every day REAL republicans (like Elizabeth as much as she's not my favorite person)...I think they are making fun of the new crazy nutters that are acting crazy...and they ARE acting crazy.
That's not all conservatives, I know several who I really respect and some who I truly LOVE...but...they are afraid to speak their mind right now because they don't want to be associated with the FOX news lovin crackpots.

Watch the View sometime. It's gotten so bad it makes me sick. I can't defend them anymore. What ever happened to just plain old talking with someone without making fun of them?

wouldnt it be nice if there were no "parties" and just people trying to make things better? we all have the same goal... well... besides the people in it for the money. which is a lot of them i guess.

hmmm...interesting...it's always appeared pretty equal to me. And I have been paying attention for quite some time. I know I've told a couple of my friends that they were starting to jump to attack mode, but that was because they were still acting like they were talking to old members who were hateful and mean.
I also find that no matter how nice you are to conservatives they ASSUME that you are attempting to be mean or rude even when that is not the case.

Unfortunately I almost have to agree with some conservatives on one issue. I have noticed a lot of republican and conservative bashing in many groups. I know that both side have their loudmouths but it was brought to my attention and now I can't help but notice when some of my friends go righ to name calling and personal attacks. They have always been this way but I never really noticed it until it was pointed out. Now when I join in different conversations (live and online) I see it more and more. What's up with us?

Republicans, Moderates, Liberals, independents are all welcome in this community. The community is obviously for Obama supporters but if non-Obama supporters want to join and post they are welcome as long as they follow the rules and guidlines under T.H.U.M.PS and do not come over for the sole purpose of starting flame wars.
When I first joined this group a year ago we had a few Republicans who took part in the discussions. It was interesting and why I joined the group but to be honest two individuals took it as a means to bash and attack Liberals and Obama supporters. Liberals were banned from their communities yet they came over to ours to start problems, The discussions quickly turned ugly and the place no longer felt safe or welcome for Obama supporters and like minded individuals. The result was the creation of the Political debating moms community. That became the place for those of us who wanted to debate with all sides over different subjects and ideas.
The reality is that even Obama supports, Democrats and Liberals do not agree on everything and we debate among each other often but debating and attacking are two different things and some people tend to forget that and ruin it for the rest of us. If people from different sides of the political spectrum want to come over here and debate as well as discuss things they are welcome!

and I mean that as a question for both sides...I know when I was more active on the liberal boards, some liberals would get REALLY upset if conservatives answered their opinion to a question...it never bothered me. I guess I'm just trying to understand the whole us vs them thing.
I get it when people are mean or nasty, but if they're just stating their opinion...what's the big deal?
