I agree with Allison, it is worse than when Clinton was in office and I hate to throw this in, but I think if he looked more like his mom, he wouldn't have as much of the hard time they are giving him. I am never one to throw that card in, but this is the only president where they vowed before he took office to make him a 'one term president'. This is the only president which is called by his last name instead of President Obama. This is the only president where an idiot has yelled out in the State of The Union Address, "You lie". This is the only president where someone has gotten in a presidents face pointing a finger with no respect. AND recently we had a soldier to say, he WOULD NOT follow the presidents orders. That one is a court marshal offense if he doesn't.

Hey Alison, I am so sorry, I forgot to check back on this site and answer your questions. I feel that President Obama will have a second chance, if the people are willing to back him up. It's up to the American people. I just hope people come to their senses and realize that the economy has suffered enough!! It's definitely time for a change, and these changes don't come over night. President Obama is making huge steps, but he can't do this alone. He needs the help definitely from Congress and the American people. Let's pray that he gets a second chance in office. Because these upcomming republicans that are giving bogus promises, are definitely not the answer. They do not have the desire to improve this economy. Their only desire is to down president Obama, and get him out of office!! It's a shame, they will lie, and od whatever it takes to accomplish that. Thank you for your comments.

I agree. I think it was worse than when Clinton was in power, and he was in a gridlock with Congress. Then, everything shut down. My friend, who's American, talked about that; and how many workers just stayed home. Washington D.C. was a ghost town for awhile. The Republicans have always been notorious for giving Democrats a hard time. I like to think that they would get it together--The Republicans--for the good of the country. Are you guys happy with a two party system? In Canada, we have three main parties. Do you think that more choice would help? Canadians, such as myself, like Obama; but feel bad that he's getting a hard time while trying to improve the economy. He is trying to clean up the mess from George W. Bush, and it's a big mess, unfortunately. Clinton had the debt eliminated, and the economy was booming. But when George W. Bush came in, the economy started to decline--in a big way. Canadians, such as myself, watch the news carefully, and our media networks are known for their international news. I think that Obama inherited a mess, and I don't know if Americans will back him again. It's not his fault, but it seems like the majority of Americans are not patient enough to let Obama's policies come into fruition. There are now easy fixes to such a big problem. Our Prime Minister gets along well with Obama, but the important part is that your country is willing to support him again in the next election. Do you think that he has a good chance? I think that Americans should stand by him--the Republican choice is not a good one, in my estimation. I have also read that whenever, usually, a Democrat is in power, the economy improves--like under Clinton, and so on. Will this be true for Obama? I don't know. But, I do think that he deserves a chance to rebuild America financially and also emotionally--America continues to need more hope and positivity. When will you know who his opponents will be? Your political system is different from ours. The majority of Canadians would like to see Obama continue, but who knows? That is up to you guys. Everyone, all the best in 2012. Good-bye for now.

I feel that the White House needs to stop trying to veto everything President Obama try to pass and back our president. But you know why they wont back him?

I'm assuming you mean Congress won't back the President's plans.

As you say, we are in too much debt, but even more important is that Obama and his administration have viable plans to address these issues but cannot get them through Congress. Congress is so wrapped up in Corporate America, effected by lobbyist representing Corporations, and concerned about Media retribution that they (congress) have become ineffective.

It's quite extreme right now, and I can only hope that during Obama's second term he can be more aggressive since he won't have to worry about re-election. I also hope we can get a Democratic House of Representatives again, because this Republican House is stagnant.
