My daughter is 1 now, but refused to eat anything that it chunkier than stage 2 baby food! She'll keep taking bites and then it all comes out at once! Does anyone else have this problem? How do I get her to start eating?

Stage 3 foods must taste bad or something! My son wouldn't touch them, either. He was on stage 2 for the longest time. I thought he'd be fifteen and I'd still be heating up baby food for him! But once he discovered finger food, he was finally ready to move on. He doesn't like little pieces of anything, though. He wants the whole banana or the whole piece of bread, and he does fine with it so I let him have it.

My son was not a fan of stage 3 foods. We skipped those and gave him bits of cheese, various fruits, steamed veggies, and bread. I don't know if it was the combination of pureed food and chunks, but I could usually only get a few bites into him before he refused any at all.

Thanks for sharing everyone. I'll try the one lumpy spoonful in the midst of dinner and we'll see how it goes =)

We had the same problem a couple of months ago. We solved the problem by giving him one spoonfull of chunkier food in the middle of dinner, then two spoons and so on. I also smashed the bigger bites with fork. It took some time, but now he eats just fine:)

My daughter is now 13 months and we go through the same thing. She will not eat any babyfood with anything in it, like veggies or chicken, noodles, etc. But she will eat table food that is chunky. Maybe babyfood tastes too bad?!?

Hi there, every baby takes their time, I found my dd preferred smoother food but she wanted to copy us eating and so she was happy to try finger foods like little cheese sarnies, bread sticks, banana and biscuits etc. Once she started eating chunkier food by herself she became more interested in eating lumpier food. Good luck xx

my 1 year old son is like that alls he does is start choking. i think he would prefer just 2 av baby dinners.
