I have a routine for Claire which is the same as for my older sons.
Breakfast is cereal with milk. Then they have a whole cup of milk a few minutes later.
Eat lunch, then have a cup of milk.
Eat dinner, then have a cup of milk.
Sometimes she can not drink the whole cup so she probably has a bit less than 3 cups a day. In between meals she drinks water only. They get fresh fruit at meal times rather than drinking any juices.
This is working for my three kids and the eldest is now at school (5 yrs old) so he takes water to school and just has the full cup of milk as soon as he gets home (rather than straight after lunch).
They also have cheese etc. on sandwiches, and she's happy with a big scoop of yogurt in her cereal too.
Best wishes. xx

I was told that 2-4 cups a day was suffice but the public health nurse who told me this also said that cheese, yogurt, and any other dairy products contribute to this amount. My daughter only has 12-14 oz of milk daily but she is a big water drinker(no juices in our family). But she loves yogurt and certain cheeses so she gets plenty of dairy.
