4 yr olds are very impressionable. They will say things that have been said to them repeatedly. Kids will repeat what they've been told to be believe, for fear of gettin in trouble. Remember kids just want to please us It's really hard for kids in custody battles they feel they have to choose one or the other. so be patient and remind them that everything will be ok. I was that four year old so that is how I know not cause of any degree, but by experience.

my son is 4 he will be 5 in october. and with him 90% of the time the only time he lies is wen he thinks he is going to get in trouble or he feels under pressure. any other time he is a blunt child as of most the other 4 yr olds too. hope that helps and good luck through ur battle hope all is well

Judges/Courts place little to no merit in what a child says during these proceedings, UNLESS there is an accusation from the child of abuse or other inappropriate behavior.
Not sure of the details... but yes, children of that age can lie.

Absolutely. Our 4 year old is going through a phase and testing her boundaries of bending the truth. We make sure to address the subject directly, even if it's just a little lie, to be sure she knows it's not acceptable.
