Hi, Madi is about two, as you all know, and I have begun potty training. Is anyone having success? We've been doing this for about a month and a half now, but she doesn't seem to be enjoying it too much other then the treat she gets after she "tries." any ideas? Suggestions?

Dec is 22 months and has been potty trained for over a month now, he reads a book while he is on the potty. The only difficultly is he wont poop in the big toilet he will only go in his potty. Good luck to evryone, one step at a time is all you can take xx

Aaliyah is 1 yr 10 mths and has been wearing panties for more then a month now. Good luck to all those mums potty training their children. just be patient and dont force them too much...dont make the thing a struggle between you and them.

my son has been potty trained for a week now and is doing really well,i chose a week where i knew i wasnt busy,i started off by putting him on the potty for 5 minutes every hour, there was a few accidents in the first few days but this is expected, its normal for the child not to do anything in the potty for the first few days but you need to persevere in putting them on every hour using simple remarks like wee wee time, when they do do someting no matter how small make a big fuss,i gave my son one of his favourite treats and a star on his chart,he loved the attention so after 2 days of accidents he started picking it up and within a week he was dry all through the day,the more of a fuss you make when they do something and the more you persevere the more they tend to co operate,i also ditched the nappies in the day all together and put him in pants, that way if they do have an accident they can actually feel they are wet.

We are taking it slow. We put our son on the potty before bed and he usually goes. During the daytime, he usually tells me "pee" after he goes and then he rips off his diaper and sits on the potty but he's usually empty by then.I guess that's a start though!

Every child is differant! So it's hard to really give advice on this one. We started potty training my daughter at about his age and she didn't want anything to do with it until she was almost two and a half, almost three. But when she REALLY understood what was going on she just started going on her own one day! One key thing that helps is to be consistent on when your trying to get them to go. My son (same age as your little one) doesn't seem like he's really ready/interested. We and our daycare are introducing him to it but not pushing anything yet. Good luck!

Well my baby does well as long as she is nude which doesn't help so much when we're out especially driving. A friend did tell me that its a false sense of accomplishment because she needs to be able to account for the time it takes to get undressed. But its a start!
I too purchased training panties because she was too comfortable with the easy ups. But I cant get her to pull either up and down with ease. I may try a larger size.
I also just found out about the potty watch. Which is a great idea to remind us while singing a tune ( no lyrics-bummer) and flashing lights to use the potty. I guess anything with a timer will do as long as it plays a tune and allows your baby to interact with it. I believe together with the panties it will soon work.
Now as for #2 she rather go in hiding. Any suggestions?

I potty trained my son at the beginning of the month. He is completely potty trained with few accidents, he has very chubby legs so that is where our difficulty lies. I used the edownload at www.3daypottytraining.com. It was well worth the $.

My daughter is 22 months and she is successfully potty trained! It took 1-2 months and it was tough but I'm glad we went through it. However, every child is different, you have to see if your child is really ready for it. I started off having her go straight to wear regular underwear (no pull-ups!). Then when she pee in her underwear I would sit her down on the potty and teach her to gesture so she'd know how to tell me the next time she needed to go. To get her to stay on the potty, I'd distract her by playing games or toys with her. Then when she pee pee in the potty, I'd make a huge deal and dance around with her to celebrate. She was stressed for a couple of weeks but it's only natural. This is a HUGE milestone. So I wouldn't give up so quick if your daughter doesn't seem to be enjoying it. We were consistent and persistent, never raised temper with her, and always stayed positive. And eventually, she got a hang of it! Now there are days where she'd regress when she's more tired and cranky, or when she plays too hard and forgets about going to the potty. That's all normal. I try to be relaxed about this whole thing and I can see her feed off me and making this learning process just a bit easier, for the both of us. Hope this helps!

I just starte potty training my daughter this month. She isn't doing that great either. She tells me when she has peed in her diaper, but doesn't sit on the potty long enough to do anything. I am just going to keep trying, I don't want to push her. I guess when she's ready she will go.

Does she have things to keep her occupied while on the potty? My son reads books or plays my Nintendo DS, he does allot better if he has something to do that is fun because he needs some time most of the time.
