Tall Children!

my daughter is 17 months and she is 33 inches and they say she is tall for her age and my b/f is 6'2 and im 5'8

I total understand were you are coming from. Piper wears 3t tops too, but she can wear 2t bottoms if they will stay on her little butt!! Which is hard, he has a belly and no butt! So pants dont stay on her! Yeah , no two piece outfits at all!

It's nice to hear about tall girls! My daughter has been in the 95th percentile her whole 17months of life, "(Her dad is 6'2'' but I am only 5'2".) Some of her sweatshirts are 3Ts because she is long on top, but her legs are short, so she can fit in some 18month pants. Her 2T pants are long and I have to roll them up. It's hard shopping for her. Two piece outfits are out of the question!

My daughter was exactly 36 inches at her 15 month check up.  I'm 5'6" and my husband is 5'8"...both average height but we have really tall family members.  It really depends on the individual.  I think I remember in my child development classes that you can take a child's height at either 2 or 3 and double it and that is their height as an adult...not exactly accurate, but you can have fun guessing whether or not you will always have a tall child.

I have a friend who daughter is 9months old and is 33 inches tall already! She is a big girl! And like 24lbs.

I wouldn't say she's exagerratedly tall, though. My husband and I have the same height as your and you. Our baby is 33 1/2 inches tall. My niece is 4 and taller than her 5 year old brother. Ever since she's been walking, she has always towered over him even though she's 18 months older. She is already wearing 6/7 for girls!

Sounds just like my little piper! Was 35 inches at 15months , weres 2t clothes! And a size 6 shoe! Must be the time of the month they were born! ha ha She was born oct.20th! Its just nice to see my little girl isnt the only tall one out there!!

My daughter was 35inches (just shy of 3 feet) at her 15month Well baby checkup.   she has been in the 97th percentile since she was born... 19 Oct.   My hubby is 6'3 but I am a shorty at 5'4.   She started wearing 2T clothes when she turned 1.  except her waist, she still has a 12-18 month waist.  And she wears a size 6 shoe!

oh, they get referrd to well child too! but ours are free, and free doc check till 6years too.

Ah I guess that would be like well baby checks here.  Only for the most part, they aren't free!

im in NZ, plunket is a national thing for children until they are 5 i think, you get an appointment with a reg. plunket nurse every milestone (1month, 3month, 6month 12 etc) and they weigh and measure baby. they also help with advise etc and you can call the free number to talk to a nurse bout anything (sick baby or healthy but not feeding etc). they pretty gud, helpfull.

my daughter is taller than all her friends, she is 15months. she is just as tall as her 3 year old cousin. :) i dont mind, but clothing wise - geez! she was in size 1 before she was 10months, and has been in size 2 since 1year!

umm yes she is tall!!!  My oldest at 15 months was 34.5 inches.  The other 3 have been ab out 33.  I'm 6'1'' DH is 6'5''.  It has more to do with your childs growth pattern than their parents.  There are many girls that are tall until 4th grade and then just stop growing.  I on the other had didn't stop till I was 21.  But yes...she is tall.
