my girls have a wide range of shows they like because of the age gap, being 3 and 7. the younger girl likes everything from Mickey,Dora and Diego, to Doc Mcstuffins and Octonauts.
Her older sis likes most of those same shows also. She also likes to watch Monster High episodes on the computer and that's fine with me because I like those "gouls" too,LOL For those of you that don't know about MH, they are the teen children of classic movie monsters going to high school and dealing with learning how to ",be yourself, be unique, be a monster".
With names like 'Duce Gorgon'(son of Madusa), and 'Frankie Stien'(frankinstein's daughter).

What I would never let them watch are spongebob, barney, the wiggles and several others because they irritate me for whatever reason. Even wow wow wubbsy bothers me, not the message he gives, just the nerve grating sounds.
My girls have about 50 dvd's to choose from also, mostly Disney princess classics and some movies I grew up loving like Labrynth and The Dark Crystal

My son loves Spongebob, Mickey Mouse, and Special Agent Oso. They all seem to be what he loves watching the most. Occasionally he likes watching Scooby Doo. Amazing World of Gumball seems to be another he enjoys. I actually see him being more involved in Gumball than he goes any other shows. My son is 3. I honestly don't care what kind of cartoons my son watches just because I'm not going to shield him from the real world. If he develops habits from the shows, I simply just correct it but I will not control what he watches unless it is shows like South Park, family guy, or american dad. I don't care for my son to watch em just because he loves to repeat the worst of words. But I honestly don't care what he watches. I let him watch what he likes.

My son likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Thomas the Train, Play with me Sesame, most of the Sprout shows. It's really funny too, cause my kindergartner will sit down and watch Sprout with him too. I don't really mind any of them cause they are so educational and are pretty cute. I'm not a big fan of What's your News though. I think it's a little stupid.

My daughter loves Jacks big music show and we have all 24 episodes recorded....but I rarely let her watch them anymore (unless it is on tv during the day) for a few reasons. 1. i've seen every episode at least a dozen times. 2. she screams when they sing the closing song because she doesn't want it to be over and wants a new episode turned on. Soo onto better shows i hope!

My childs fav show is "yo gabba gabba". I suppose it is entertaining to her, but I find it very weird to see a grown man in a skin tight orange jumpsuit!

the girl child knows the names to any and all cartoons on the air...on any channel. oddly enough, she won't watch more than 5 minutes before running off and finding something else to do (like crushing an entire bag of saltine crackers when my back is turned. an open bag, mind you!) her absolute favorite is "the incredibles" by pixar. she will actually sit and watch the entire thing, then ask to watch it again. and the cycle repeats. we even went so far as to test how long she would sit there and watch that movie. 5X in a row! i finally got sick of her just sitting there and shut it off but wow!
i would have to say that it is dora the explorer that gets on my nerves the most and, really, only because of the animation. i HATE the way her head is shaped.
but, seriously, there is no educational television. and i am surprised that any of them still claim to be

Hi Elijah loves dancing and singing programmes best but also amongst his faves are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, special Agent Oso, Ben 10, Numberjacks, Fireman Sam, Land Before Time.

He adores dinosaurs and when he watched Fireman Sam he has to act everything out. He puts on his fireman's uniform, uses a broom for a fire hose and he marches around the living room when they are going to the fire. Its quite cute but at the same time if he hasn't got his props with him on time, he freaks out! Very annoying.

My daughter loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Imagination Movers, and Elmo. Sometimes she will watch Sponge Bob but she doesn't always want to. She really only watches TV about 2 hours max a day. The rest of the day she is playing with her toys or doing things with me. She loves doing hands on things more then watching the TV so I am happy about that.

My 2 year old son, Carter loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Caillou. Caillou, while sweet it starting to wear on me. And I don't know why Caillou is four but has zero hair. I have found that finding shows on National Geographic, etc. on trains and trucks and animals works too and helps me not go crazy.

lol my 2 year olds name is also carter and he also likes caillou.  and I have also been wondering why he has no hair...yet his sister has a lot!  My son also likes watching nascar (probably b/c of my mothers obsession w/cars!), the music/dance videos on nick jr, dora (but wont watch diego...), and likes mary kate and ashley (their first video when they were just starting, and singing the whole video).

Mine loves Caillou.  In fact I made her a Caillou shaped cake for her birthday party.  Caillou is french for stone or bald, in the original french Canadian books Caillou was a lot younger then he is in the cartoon.  Caillou has been around for almost 15 - 20 years.  LOL now that you have your Calliou history lesson :) We watch a lot of PBS, Sprout and just recently started with Dora and Deigo.

My daughter LOVES Dora...she sings the songs, dances, and participates. She even has the dvd we have mostly memorized. :-b I actually like Dora. Hayden has really seemed to learn a lot from it, and the songs are catchy and the stories somewhat interesting.

I don't let my daughter watch tv much at all unless I'm going to watch it with her so we can talk about it, but when we do she loves to watch Dora and the Fresh Beat Band, and sometimes we watch Wonderpets and Ni Hao on Nick Jr. Her daddy got her into Dora. She's her favorite!

Quoting Denise:

My son is really into PBS shows, especially Super Why, Big, Big World, Caillou and Dinosaur Train (new one). He enjoys watching most of the other programs on PBS and that thrills me because they are the best quality on tv. Some of the shows on Nick, Jr. he likes, such as Little Bear, Kai Lan and Olivia. However, I try not to let him watch Wonder Pets because they speak in baby talk and he doesn't need that confusion since no one ever talks to him that way. I don't want him picking up bad habits from a show like that. He kinda likes Backyardigans, but not as much as the others. He really pays attention to Sesame Street now, but his favorite character seems to be Cookie Monster and not Elmo. In fact, he tends to wander out of the room during Elmo's World segments. He also likes Sid the Science kid, although not so much lately. Most of the other shows on Nick, Jr. he watches with mild interest like he does when we watch adult programs and the news. We don't really watch Disney because we feel it's too commercial, although we do watch the animated movies every now and then. Although we like Pixar films the best. Oh, and another show he gets excited about: Wheel of Fortune.

I have to disagree about wonder pets. They do teach kids about teamwork and working together,. I wouldnt let the "baby talk" or whatever you call it deter you from watching it. The way Ming Ming talks is actually cute, and it shows that these are actually being played by kids, which other kids can relate better. Im not trying to tell you what to do, but I think thats very closed-minded.
