Hi courtney, my little boy Keegen is going to be 1 on the 15th and we are having his party on the 17th....its gone by way to fast. We are having a zoo theme party and i found directions on line on how to make a tiger cake and a snake cake, so it should be fun. We are having his party with friends and family at grandma and grandpa's house this year beause we live with some friends right now. It should be fun hopefully the weather holds out til then! Hope all goes well with your lady bug theme!

I'm kind of freaking out about this, actually. My little boy is 1 on the 22nd, so I'm thinking his party will be on the 24th. My guest list for our "small family gathering" (plus our best friends and their baby) is up over 20 people. I have a very small house and by the end of October it will probably be too cold to do anything outside. Does anybody have ideas of other places, besides you home, to host a first birthday party?

I know how you feel. I'm having my daughters birthday on the 24th too and the guest list is over 20 people also, but i wanted to have it at our house since it would be easier and i wasn't sure about the weather and didn't want to spend the money to use a place. I'm hoping the weather will be nice so we can kind of have the party outside, but if not we'll just have to make it work.

Gosh I too can't believe how fast it has come around☹, I am trying to decide on what to do, his bday is the 30th, we are in the middle of so much, traveling to QLD for a week for my son's soccer academy, then back to only have to pack and organize our interstate relocation to ACT, we live in NSW so in and out of the state a few times over October, we will be in the middle of packing the house up when his birthday comes along, I would like a big party at our house, but I think a small family thing will have to do as not only are we busy but so far our bill for the month of Oct already is way over $10, 000 between our trip to QLD then relocation to ACT, boy are we busy!!! Hope you all have great b'days! If you can't tell I am in Australia! Cheers xx

Our son, Drake's, birthday is on the 12th, but we are having the party on the 17th because I have that week off- so ill have time to clean and prepare for the big party. Many friends and family are coming for a BBQ/cupcake party. Not sure on the theme but it will probably involve Mickey Mouse. Happy 1st Birthdays everyone!!!

My son's birthday is on the 15th but we are having his party on the 4th because

I wanted to make sure my twin sister could be there...she's due to have her baby on the 18th. We are having a farm themed party outside. Hopefully the weather cooperates so we can have hayrides for the kids. I think I went a little overboard on the "theme" and cake...but they only turn 1 once right! Plus my husband and I decided that their first bday will be the BIG family party for our kids. After this one it will just be immediate family and maybe a few friends from school when the time comes. Good luck everyone! They're growing sooo fast!! It's a little sad :(

Yes, we made it! Our b/g twins are having a sock monkey themed party. We are having 50 family members at out home Oct 10th. I hope and pray the weather cooperates or we will be cramped in the house. I used www.etsy.com to find adorable sock monkey outfits for the kids. My daughter has a cute monkey dress and my son has a matching monkey appliqued on a cute striped rugby shirt. Can't wait!!

I can't believe my daughter is going to be one already, time sure does fly by. Her birthday is on the 21st and we are having her party on the 24th. We are doing a princess theme. I'm thinking about making a crown cake. I found a cake pan online so i think i will order that and then make her a small little cake just for her. We are just going to have the party at the house.

Hi Courtney! Isn't it crazy that they are already almost 1!! My hubby is in the military and has training for three weeks so he will miss that and Halloween. My parents and sis will be in town then. It's just going to be a small party with 7 adults and 1 baby. I will make lunch for everyone and have cake. We have a son born Oct. 23 so we are doing a jungle theme. I am going to try and make a cute jungle cake with a monkey on it. Are you buying a cake or making it?

Aww, sorry to hear that your hubby is going to miss it!!  You'll just have to take lots of pictures and try to record it for him.  I was going to buy a cake made from cupcakes, but then I got this magazine in the mail and was looking through it and saw the ladybug theme and they have a cake pan that you can make different bugs out of.  It is really cute!!  So I am planning on getting that and seeing how big it is.  I would like to make the cake out of that and then do a batch or two of cupcakes and decorate them like ladybugs for the kids.
