My son is almost crawling and was born the 8th. Has anyone else's October baby shown any interest in crawling yet?

Beau was born on the 24th and he is commando crawling all over the house ... he has discovered there is life beyond the living room lol.  He isn't sitting up by himself yet tho ... would prefer to stand if he has something to lean on.

My daughter isnt crawling! All she wants to do is stand up! She will stand up on her own if she is holding something! I think her legs are to fat to get under her to scoot!

Will was born the 15/10. He hasn't crawled yet, he cant quite get his knees under him. But he sits for 30mins at a time without falling, and pulls himself to stand in his cot. Maybe he just decided to skip crawling :-)

My daughter is the same way!! She was born on Oct 16th and hates being on her tummy. I wonder if she will ever crawl! She will push up on her arms for just a second then she gets mad. She is trying to sit up. She would much rather be up where she can see what's going on!

My little boy is no where near crawling yet. He is number 4 for me so I am not wanting him to start moving yet!! He is my last bubby so I want him to stay little and not move for a long time to come!!! He doesn't even enjoy tummy time and can only sit on his own for like a second before going sideways! My advice is just enjoy them and not expect everything so soon, they are only little for such a short time. They grow up way too quick. :(

My daughter (born 14th Oct) is very close to crawling. She can pull herself along on her tummy and gets up on her hands and knees and rocks.  She is a master at sitting up by herself as soon as I put her on the floor, she gets a cheeky grin on her face as if to say "how clever am I". Very cute

My son was also born the 8th. He is scooting (more of an army crawl) and had just recently started to get his knees up under himself. Once he's there though he doesn't really know what to do and most of the time ends up falling onto his back. He's getting better though at getting his legs up underneath himself. It's very entertaining to watch him try to do it on his own.

My little man was born on the 2nd but isn't crawling yet. Every now and then I think he is just about to as he gets up on hands and knees and rocks back and forward but then collapses on his face. He rolls for his toys now but doesn't really purposefully inchworm forward....maybe accidentally sometimes. Maybe he will crawl soon but he can't sit unaided yet either. They say sitting usually comes first because they need the back as well as the neck muscle strength but I know of a couple of early crawlers that didn't sit first. It is quite rare to crawl well before 6months so congrats to those proud Mum's with early developers.

My little girl has learned to scoot forward.  Sometimes she moves faster than others, but we hardly ever catch her in action.  She does about an hour and a half of tummy time now each day.  She just started to straigten her arms out well, I call it her yoga pose!  She also spins sometimes on her belly!

When it comes to development, we need to keep in mind every baby is different and will go at there own pace- they may never crawl and go right into walking :) It is soooo wonderful watching them grow though, isn't it? Keep up the good work mommies!!!

Hi - yes glad to hear I am not the only one. My little boy has been inch worming backwards and has been doing what I call pushups (tummy of the ground, only thing touching the ground is his hands and toes) since he was 4 months. Last night he has finally worked out how to crawl forwards. He was born on the 9th October 2008. He looks too tiny to crawl, but looks very cute. We think he is trying to catch up to his older brother and sister. His brother walked at 10 months, so I am guessing he will walk around this age or even earlier.

My son Josh was born on the 9th and is pretty much crawling. He gets up launches himself forward. I can put him in his bed and he travels up one end, along the top and back down the other side. He loves to be on his tummy and I have stopped forcing him onto his side or back when he is sleeping because he is happiest on his tummy.

My daughter was born on the 29th. We can't tell you if she has any interest because when we put her on her tummy all she does is lie there face down and screams. Unless we put her on a chair so she can see over the edge, or on our tummies. Then she will push up on her arms. Go figure. Cute picture, by the way.

My Em is the same. She HATES tummy time & she doesn't seem all that interested in moving around getting from A to B. In saying that she sits up & stands extremely well. She much prefers to be upright & watching the goings on.

My little man gets on his elbows and tip toes and rocks back and forth a lot, then puts his head down and pulls himself forward.  He does this several times a day (and at night when he's supposed to be sleeping).  It's very slow... I've called it inchworming too.  (:

He has also slowly rolled across the floor of our living room.
