My daughter is turning 1 oct 8th. The invitations had pictures from birth, month 1 -month 11 for people to see how she's grown. I am doing a duck theme b-day party. I'm setting up my basement as a toy room for all the kids to go and play while adults mingle upstairs and in the basement. I feel like I'm going all out, but I'm so excited!

Isabella will be on the 14th - I know - not what you asked!!! We are having her grandparents (my hubby's parents as my family all live in Canada), his sister and family over for cake and coffee. Nothing elaborate - she has lots of friends but I'm not inviting them this year. When the kids are older I will - she won't understand what's going on anyway. But I will make it special for her from mommy and daddy. xox

my son is turning 1 on the 14th :D,, i do not know what i am going to do yet,, i am very occupied with many ideas and feel like i will not be able to do any! but he eats egg yolk, so i am going to bake a cake with egg, it is ok after one to eat the whole egg, besides i think he will just taste and may be a very little piece,, so i am not really concerned about the egg,,but i think we will celebrate it at home, some balloons, sweets, some happy birthday music for the kids to dance and play around,,,,i am not sure..:D

My daughter is turning one then as well. I am leaving most of the planning upto my hubby as I honestly don't celebrate birthdays. I think daddy and her are going to have a special daddy daughter lunch and then depending on the weather us gals may hit the mall

My daughter will be one on the 13th!

We're having a party with family and friends on the 10th, just a cookout and I'm making a cake in the shape of the number 1. It's as much a celebration of her birthday as it is a celebration that my husband and I have made it through our first year of parenting (and she's still in one piece)! :)

What kind of cake are you baking your little one?  My daughter hasn't started eating eggs yet--I'm going to try a carrot cake with egg replacement.  My carrot cake was good with eggs, so we'll see.  But I did find a vegan ginger cake and I tried it on her (actually it was a cupcake)--she liked it and I loved it.  I'm bad--we're going the Costco route for food...family and friends too (about 22 people)

Mine hasn't had eggs yet either, but I'm not too concerned about the egg thing after she turns one, so I'm making her a good, old fashioned chocolate cake...baby's first sugar!  It's her first birthday, time to live a little, although  I am making the cake from scratch...I'm making all of the other food too, we're doing hamburgers and hotdogs and then sides like dips, veggies and stuff like that.
