My son starting going through a stage around 12 months when he didnt want to eat..... so we have taken him off baby food for the most part but occasionally he will eat some of the dinner ones if that is the only thing we can get him to eat. (better to eat that than nothing at all right?) hes 14 months now. I love the graduate lines for toddlers, they have pick up pastas and macaroni shells with cheese etc and they are perfect for them to pick up and feed on their own. Plus my son loves pancakes and oatmeal and we try to feed him anyting we are eating at the table but making sure its healthy and something he can digest and not choke on. (no hot dogs, no corn etc). Go into the baby/toddler isle and just see what they have. They actually have a line of food where you can buy that is for 12 months+ and its not that nasty baby food. Hope this helps!

May be nursing more simply because he is hungry. I think you need to transition to solid foods...try starting cereal (rice or oatmeal - you can use breastmilk with this) and pureed vegetable, fruits. He can eat pretty much what you are eating. Our doctor told us that by 9 months of age, our son should be eating 3 meals a day. He may be ready for new falvors, textures, etc.

Seriously I hope that your not teaching your kids to be as rude as u are Michelle. What other people feed their kids is none of your business and u are extremely rude I feed my kids very nutrisious meals and some of what I posted were just snacks just to show some examples of what kids can eat by that age. U need to grow up and like I said before mind your own!!!!

Toddlers go through picky spurts where they sometimes don't want much to eat and in an hour, they want more. Some go through several days hardly eating anything. It can also come hand in hand with teething..it hurts to eat! So take that into consideration.

Also, you should really be getting him off the jarred foods and getting him used to eating table foods. There isn't a reason why he needs the jarred foods any longer. Continuing BF'ing if you choose, it's totally fine but he definitely needs to be on solids at this point.

My daughter will still eat the jarred stuff but I have moved her onto 'my' food, but mostly I make her own meals. I just use veggies nice and soft and small, and then a small piece of fish or chicken. She has even had a little pice of steak, and loved it. But I also give her veggie nuggets and fish fingers, and occasionally fries ! As long as everything is balanced and heis active and loved hewill be fine,try sharing your food from your plate, my daughter always seems to think my food is tastier LOL

He shouldn't be eating any babyfood at all. He should be eating solid by him self.(crushable and mashable stuff)

At about the time babies start walking they also get more independent; they want to do things for themselves. If your little boy is walking or even getting more mobile (crawling more, cruising etc) he could just want to feed himself. Also I think they lose interest in food a bit when they start to walk, just because there's so much more going on in their little lives! My daughter's appetite has definitely lessened lately too.

When you say he's eating 'baby food' what do you mean? My girl is eating the same food as I am at this stage without the salt. Maybe your son is just ready for foods with more flavour and texture? More variety?

I would try giving him some really chopped up finger foods to try. he may be getting to the point where he doesn't want pureed baby food anymore. My 13 month old twins starting refusing the jarred baby food and anything i was feeding them with a spoon at around 9.5 months. I started cutting up mushy things like sweet potato or butternut squash and now they eat anything but just cup up small.

if he's drinking more breastmilk he's probably fine.*my daughter nurses when when she's teething*... but WHy is he still on baby food? he should be self feeding solids at this point...
