Bottle to Sippy Cup? How to?

We use Tommee Tippee sippy cups without the handles, but with a soft spout.

My son loves these and will happily drink whatever from these throughout the day.

I don't ive milk in a sippy, so I don't have any transition advice. I started with a Gerber sippy, and she HATED it. Tried the Avent next, and she took to it much better. Tried a different one, and she learned how to squeeze the top to spill the juice out. Current favorite is the small (Nuby, I think) handled cup with the straw. Just keep trying different kinds of cups. Eventually he'll find his own favorite.

i started with the sippy cup brand "nuby" at wal mart they have a package that has a nipple a sippy and a straw for like 5 bucks. it took him a while take the nipple but when he got used to it i started tryin to get him to take the sippy. after a while he took it and we havent had a bottle since the first time he took it. im moving forward not backwards.

I had a hard time getting my son to drink out of sippy cups at first too. I finally found a sippy cup at walmart that says it eases the transition from bottle to sippy cup and it worked wonders. He immediatly took to it and after a few days with that, he could drink out of any sippy cup. The brand was either the nuk or nub.. I'm not sure, but it has the side handles and a soft top..

i am also transitioning my son into sippy cups. what has worked for me so far is to offer his non-meal drinks in the sippy cup, such as water or juice, and then let him have the bottle for meals. i have done this for about 2 months now, he loves drinking out of his sippy cup and sometime he is so hungry he will drink his formula out of the cup too. it has been a slow process for us but it has worked without him fussing :) we use the avent brand and everything is interchangeable with bottle/sippy nipples and cups. good luck!

i think it all depends on the baby. if you just keep offering it to him eventually he will start drinking out of it. i forgot which one i have but its a sippy cup from walmart & its the starter kind. i started with juice first & he cant let go of it. so i guess just keep giving it to him, try it when he is really itching for a bottle & he might take it. good luck :) & hope everything works out.

I don't really have any advise, but am trying to transition my daughter from bottle to sippy cup. She loves drinking water and juice out of her sippy cup, but if i put formula in her sippy cup she wants nothing to do with it. She gets mad and screams at me until i give her the bottle with formula in it. I started her off with the munchkin sippy cup with handles its the training sippy cup. Then recently i got her a new one without handles i think the brand is playtex and she likes those just as much.

my daughter could not figure out how to use the sippy cups we had, and then i finally found one she could work and she loves it! they are just little cheap "munchkin" brand. they are very easy for her to use, and me to clean. she wouldn't hold it at first, but i just kept putting her hands on the handles and now she holds it like a pro!

I just started putting his formula/milk into the sippy cup he has been using to drink water from and it worked. I have an avanti (sp?) it has handles. I would just keep offering it to him until he catches on!! Good luck!
