I was told by a friend (who has a 2.5 and 1 year old) that those little shopping carts are usually a hit that keep their interest even as they get older. She also has a set of big "tumbling" blocks that she got from target.com (do a search for Block Parties - Geometry). They are big "blocks that they can climb on, and both of her kids LOVE them. They are bit on the pricey side, but I'm told they are worth it!

Personally, I'm thinking fisher price little people!

Mine loves when the hotdog mickey mouse comes on tv, so I think I will get that for him my 3 yr old wants the mickey choo choo so that is also on the list. I m basically looking for stuff the 1yr old and the 3 yrold can share. they share everything anyways. Other then that there is Playskool Helmet Heroes Race Car Driver or fire man. He loves his brothers police man helmet so I think they may like to run around with each other. I had just started looking also.

Quoting Shannon:

My sister in law got my son the fisher price zebra that they can sit on and it bounces and spins. Guess my nephew really liked it.

My dad is also getting my son the same thing, except his is the Bounce & Spin Pony ($65) and it comes with a wireless connection to the TV it teaches them all different things like shapes, colors, letters, ect. I saw a commerical for it and thought it would be a great thing for him to grow with, he can use it now to bounce and spin on but as he gets older he will also learn from it too. My son also LOVES Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I found a Mickey that sings and dances to the Hot Dog song which he loves to dance to, they have them at Toys R Us for like $35 im deffinitely going to get him that. I think that is something he will play with for awhile. Books are a great gift, clothes are always needed but I know alot of family usually buy them clothes. Shoes/Snow boots are great since they always grow out of them so fast. Hope that helps alittle bit! [:

I really want to get my son a Fisher-Price Little People set. Of course he will be getting clothes and since I make/crochet/sell Teddy Bears he will be getting one of his own.

I am a great fan of books, so you can never go wrong with a good picture book. Also look for something that she can grow with, blocks etc are good.
