Did you ever forget that you're boiling bottles?

I just did that last night! Instead of bottles, it was two sippy cups that we just bought. I started to sterilize the sippy cups around 10PM and fell asleep! My husband and I woke up around 1AM and the cups were melted. The kitchen and living room smells of burnt plastic. We aired it out last night, but, it still smells a little bit right now.

Yes!! I really thought I was alone on this one- I forgot I was boiling nipples and fell asleep- only to wake up to melted nipples in the bottom of a dry pan- the pan was ruined too!! Thats funny- I wasn't even going to tell anyone- my husband knew but that was it!!!

Don't feel too bad! I did the exact same thing. I was sterilizing a bottle on the stove and fell asleep on the couch. Woke up because I smelled the burning plastic.

Wow!! I never trust myself to boil anything, I always forget. This is why I use the Medela microsteam bags, I just put the stuff in the bag, add a little water and microwave it for 3 min. So far it has worked for me great and they are not expensive.
