My daughter is 7.5 months and only has 2 bottom teeth. I tried to give her a disolvable star or cookie and she was chocking. Has any1 else experienced this? Do others feed their child this and/or how?

My daughter has her two bottom teeth only as well. She eats the puffs and "chews" them and really loves them. Happy Baby is an organic baby food company and they make puffs too but they round with holes in the middle (more shaped like cheerios), and still disolve in babies mouth, with alot less sugar then the gerber ones, you may want to try that. My daughter loves them and has never had any problems... they sell them at organic grocerystores and even target carries them... Also, there are these things called MumMum's that she loves!!!! They are like rice cakes for babies that totally dissolve and keeps her occupied and eating for a while!

I don't think my twin girls eating habits are normal, from what I can compare at mums group! They don't have teeth yet, but you wouldn't know it! They eat anything & everything & plenty of it. I still won't give them egg white, honey or big amounts of dairy though. They down almost a cup each at each feed. Farex or cereal for breakfast (that's 10mth Farex too!) Finger food - fries, cut up fruit, bickies/rusks, etc for lunch (even mandarine segments - I don't have a clue how they manage to bite off chunks?) & veges & a little cut up meat for dinner. I did a baby 1st aid course & I spose that made me a bit more confident in what I was feeding them - I know what to do if they choke, but they never did have much gag reflex or anything. I just make sure I don't ever leave them for a second while they have food in their reach. Once or twice I've had a bit of a choker but they spat it out themselves within the second (oh - the girls are born 15th Oct for comparison!) I'm not sure what a disolvable star is (I'm in Australia) but the girls LOVE the rice rusks that dissolve very quickly. It did take lots of practise with puree, then slightly chunky etc to get them to this stage though

i gave my daughter some of those disolvable stars just the other day, but only half a one at a time. She has no teeth, but chews with her gums. But today i tried feeding her a teeny tiny piece of french frie and she choked a little, so that will be a last for while!
