Does anyone else's baby have molars already?

wow.. only six teeth? my baby has all of the teeth he could possible get at this age (16 I think), including his molars and he is already working on his two year molars. He did start early with his teeth with his first ones breaking through when he was 3 1/2 months old. His dentist said though that there really is no "right way" for baby's teeth to come in. Yes I said his dentist... he goes this Monday for his second cleaning already.

MY daughter is 17 months old and she has all 4 molars. The only teeth she is missing are her 4 incisors. She actually got her molars when she was 15 months old and they all came in at once. The one piece of advise I have is stock up on orajel and tylenol.

My son, who is 17 months, has all his teeth except his 2 year molars. Every kiddo is different. I think the earlier the teeth come in the earlier they fall out. Not sure if that statement is true but it did apply for my first born. She is 11 and is one of the few in her class with no baby teeth. She has one 12 year molar and the others will be in soon. She got her baby teeth early also.

Funny that you write that my little 16 month old, almost 17 months old is cutting 4 also, I didn't think these were next according to the charts but I guess they have to get them eventually so why not now...and waking during the night again....

my 17 month old daughter got 4 molars in December - when she was 14 months old. They seemed to come in fairly easily and did not give her too much trouble. She is getting all 4 eye teeth right now and they are proving to be VERY hard on her. Hope this helps

my son just turned 17 months on Friday and for a couple of weeks now it seems hes been constantly biting his fingers like toward the back.. he only has four on top and two on bottom and two more of come through on the bottom. I thought maybe it was too early as well but its possible. Extremely crabby and waking up almost every night of the week I hope it passes soon!

My little girl has her four molars through which is very early compared to my four year old who didn't even get her first tooth until she was one. They all come through at different rates, nothing to worry just make sure to clean them well as they have to last a long time.

My daughter is 16 months and has all of her teeth as far as I can tell. (including her 2 yr molars recently) She's had her 15 month molars since sometime before she turned 1. Our pediatrician said that happens sometimes and it's a good sign apparently.

No, just two more bottom teeth. I'm dreading when the molars come in.....I better have apple sauce stocked. It's all I can get him to eat besides frozen-wheat germ n' yogurt banana fingers!

My son is 16 months and he got his molars in when he was about 14 months old. They've been in for a while. Since christmas. He only has 8 teeth besides those. He got his first teeth at 6 months old. I guess some kids just get them earlier. My daughter was the same way...

My daughter has all of her front teeth and four molars. She started getting her molars when she was about 13 months. Before she turned one she only had her 4 front teeth then the rest started coming in all at once. She is now 16 months and starting to get her eye teeth.
I have 16 month old twins and both have all 4 molars already! I had no idea what happened to my happy babies around Christmas and then I saw all four molars poking thru. I had no idea. Poor things went thru it with no Motrin! Live and learn I guess

My 16 month old is just getting the last of his teeth. We just cut 3 out of the 4 eye teeth and I would go back to molars in a heartbeat becasue he is so crabby with his canines! Sounds like he is right on time for his molars. Then we get another set at 2...yipee!

Hi Claire :) I thought it was odd too when the molars cut before the canines and asked doc about it. Nothing out of the ordinary - either ones can come thru first. Max cut his molars at 14-15 months and we are still waiting on canines which are bulging now. When I googled cutting teeth I found an article that actually said molars should cut before canines. Handy I guess - helps them chew solids up much better having a few teeth in the back :) Good luck with the crabbiness though - they are very hard to cut! Get some frozen popsicles and keep Motrin handy!
