My daughter drools like crazy! She also shows other signs of teething...ear pulling, diaper rashes, decreased appetite, chewing on everything, mild coughing (from the excess of saliva) and crankiness. It'll go on for a day or two and stop for a few days and then start up again. I've been told that this can go on for a little while before her teeth actually come in. So pull out the bibs and keep an eye out for skin irritations on his chin from the drool.

My girl is drooling these days, but she is also chewing on everything, refusing to eat a times, not sleeping well, and crying inconsolably at times. I don't see any teeth yet, but I give her teething tablets and they calm her down.

bubby's body would still be getting used to all those solids anyways...so id assume drooling would still be a major part of their development...
i guess i come from the philosophy - if bubby is happy, they aren't in any discomfort and it doesn't bother them - then I don't really worry...

Well we started him on rice cereal, carrots and apples so he's getting food... I don't know I fell bad when he's soaked to the bone in drool....

I've heard and been told the same as what Sara has said - it is bubby getting ready for solids. My bubby is a massive drooler, we go through bibs like no tomorrow - but.. not a sign of a tooth at this stage.

Mine is drooling too and likes to blow bubbles and make the farting type noises with his mouth. My mom thinks he is teething or wants to start eating cereal.

I have read that babies around this age drool a lot, and it doesn't necessarily mean that they are teething. It is their salivary glands maturing, getting ready for food. My 4 month old drools a lot too, but has no signs of teeth.

babies start teething behavior at about 2 months even though they might not get their teeth until several months after. The spitting might be his attempts at making sounds which is foundation for launguage. encourage it, but if it bothers you, you can always try to mimic the sounds he's actually trying to make to help him establish it faster.
