extremely dry skin in the face area

I have a recommendation, which I know a lot of people have tried and been very pleased with after having tried everything else. I think the key is correct moisturising and 'natural' as we are using too many chemicals on our skin. Please read the following article

We use aveeno baby and eucerin on his face and it has worked well. I wouldn't use soap on his face yet, just water and right afterwards apply the lotion to seal in the moisture.

We have used Aquaphor (made by Eucerin) and it works great anywhere the baby has dry skin... good luck!

my daughter has the same thing...i put the Cortaid Ointment not the lotion stuff and it really works.

My son has super dry skin on his face too.  Actually his whole body is super dry and sensitive.  We use cortizone when it gets really bad and itchy.  Thats clears it up really well.  I don't like to use it constantly so I use it until it clears up and then I use Lubriderm lotion all over his body every morning and night.  I also use Aveeno oatmeal body bath for super dry skin.  The regular Johnson's baby bath drys his skin out too bad.

hiya, alfie always had one cheek that was dry and rough, didnt matter what i tried it never became like his other cheek. then about three weeks ago it became quite red and cracked so took him to the gp and its excema which had a slight infection that was keeping it red, so got given some fantastic cream that cleared it up in 2 days.

My son had really dry skin during the really cold months. The pharmacist told us to try Aveno lotion for babies. It really worked.

we use aveeno baby and it works really well. my son's pediatrician also suggested aquaphor (i think its mostly just petroleum jelly) he also said that we need to be careful what we wash his clothes in. he said even dreft, which is marketed specifically for babies, has fragrance in it that can irritate sensitive skin. he suggested using arm and hammer b/c it's fragrance free. hope this helps!

My son has extremely dry skin also. We have been to the dr. numerous times in regards to it. We currently use Cetaphil wash and DHS shampoo. I also use a little bit of petroleum jelly on his face when he goes to bed and it seems to make is better for a little while. It seals in any moisture. I have been using for about a month and a half and almost always clears any redness and itching.

Hi, My daughter had dry skin on her face and legs at 2 months, the dr. said to use diaper rash cream. It cleared her face up really nice. Hope this helps.

You should probably make sure you're using a very mild soap (or just water) when you wash his face.  Also, after washing, leave it wet when you rub in the oil/moisturizer as this locks in the moisture.  I've heard Eucerin is really good for dry baby skin.  I personally use Aveeno products and love them and we live in a very dry climate.  GL!
