I am a first time mom to an adorable baby boy born on Oct 8, 2008. He is so amusing and funny already! He can roll over, hold his head up, push himself up, and he gets so frustrated that he can't sit up or crawl yet. Does anyone else have an infant this determined to be independent? I know I'm going to have my hands full. According to my grandma, my dad was walking (holding onto the table or couch) at three months old, and I have a feeling Cullen won't be far behind!

Wow your little one is advanced too !! I am a first time mom and had a baby boy on Oct 13th and he can also hold his head up and on day two rolled from flat on his back to his side. It's amazing on what they can do.

Aww i am a first time mommy too and my baby boy was born october 8th too! Oh ya my little guy is already rolling onto his side. when he is being held he likes to be sitting up. He can't quite hold his head up on his own yet, but he trys to. I don't want him to grow up to fast but it seems like he already is.

Congratulations! I'm a first time mom who had a son, James, on 10/8 too. I was surprised to see how independent James is too. At 2 days old he was already rolling onto his side to sleep. He's also good at holding his head up.

My daughter was born on Oct 12 and on the day she was born (well it was like 2 in the morning she was born at 6 pm) my mother was holding her and she held her head up looking around for a good minute before it flopped back down on my mom's chest lol. But now she holds her head up all the time looking around, and her little arms are so strong, when the get in the way while she breastfeeding I'm always afraid I'm gonna break her little arm trying to get it out of the way. She hasn't quite rolled over yet from on her tummy but she is trying to figure it out. She hasn't gotten much tummy time but when she is there she is moving her legs trying to figure out how to do it. She will roll herself over from her tummy onto her back when she is laying on my chest, but I think that's a little easier for her to do. She will also kick her little legs and push up when I hold her so her feet are touching my legs.

Yes, she could hold up her head right away. But rolling over is something they don't usually do until a couple months!

The first time he rolled over, he was on his back in my lap! I thought it was an accident, and I didn't want to risk him falling OFF my lap, so I laid him down and he did it again right away. He doesn't do it all the time, or every day, but when he does, he knows what he's doing! Did your daughter hold her head up right away? The nurses at the hospital seemed really surprised that he already could... I just know I'm going to have my hands full in a few months!

My baby girl was born Oct 9. She seems very strong - holds her head up and her legs are really strong too. But I can't say she's rolled over yet! Mind you, I probably haven't been giving her enough time on her tummy. She's always either being held, or laid on her back. I have to remember to give her some tummy time every day when she's in a good mood.
