First Year Birthday Party!

I just had a Birthday party for my 1 year old daughter Crystal. We invited friends and family over and hosted a BBQ. We supplied the meat and the guest supplied the side dishes. That made it much easier on me and we all had a great time.

We are doing a very simple birthday party at the park. We invited those who have invested time and love in our child and we didn't ask anyone to bring any presents (I'm sure he'll get a few, but we didn't want tons). We are just doing a fruit tray, cheese and cracker tray, and a nice healthy cake. No activities planned but having fun on the playground!

I don't know if you have anything planned yet for you're little ones first birthday...we just had our little girl' first birthday party at the pumpkin patch in our town! It was so much fun and super cute! There was a hay ride that we took out into the field to pick our pumpkins and we had pizza and hot apple cider. We are going to do this every now..it was awesome! Well just thought i would suggest that. Whatever you do...it will be memorable! Have fun:)

I know how you feel. Kayden is my first baby too and we have already went way over board after we said we wouldn't. She's having a Winnie the Pooh themed party with the works we're buying a lot of food and too many decorations. My husband insisted on buying a full sheet cake even though we don't have nearly enough people coming that can actually eat it all! I'm hoping the weather will permit all the kids being able to go outside and play, we also plan on taking them to the park afterwords. I think I might drive myself nuts before we even get to the party :)

Oh my, I know what you're talking about! I have 3 and it can get pretty expensive, I suggest taking lots of pictures, that way when your baby gets older and wants a MoonBounce, you can say hey "look at these pictures, I went all out, Im in Dept now!!" LOL, your 1st is special, have a wonderful party!! Me on the other hand, I figure just close family and a cake, some balloons, and Pics, he won't remember anyway!! Have fun!

For everyone having your parties at a park.... don't worry if your guest do not take all of the balloons home...there should be plenty of kids at the park that aren't apart of your party that would LOVE a balloon. We did this for my son's 1st bday party and the kids at the park were so happy. :)

We are doing a party in our city park. Its a very nice area so the kids can play before and after food and presents. I'm having a local tea room make croissants and sides for it since the theme is 1st Bday Princess. I have the cutest cups with straws wrapped around them for the children plus crowns & wands for them. One thing I think everyone should consider is if you are ordering your cake from somewhere see if they do "Pull-a-Part" cakes which are cupcakes that come together and look like a cake. Then you won't have to worry about cutting the cake and to me its makes it so much easier. Hope everyone has fun.
We're taking advantage of the Halloween proximity and having a costume party with monster theme. The kids and family party will be in the afternoon after the morning nap and before the afternoon nap. Then, later in the evening after the kids go down we're having a grown up party to celebrate making it through the first year of twins. Costume, also.
