I am having MAJOR trouble with my little one. She is almost 15 months and will not eat anything super chunky. I have tried the Gerber and Beechnut little mini meals and she spits ou the peas and chicken and has even thrown up because of the texture..it seems to gag her. I can get her to eat breads, crackers and biscuits...it's just the chunky foods that she can't handle. She has 10 teeth and we should'nt be going through this!! Any suggestions would be very helpful! The 3rd foods baby food is just too expensive!

Hi Melissa-
Thank you so much for letting me know how you managed! It looks like I'm going to need to go out and get a blender.

My little girl who is 3 now, only started eating chunky food last year, she just couldn't manage, she wouldn't eat the baby food, so whatever we had i would puree it with a handheld blender, mince with vegies or suasage & vegies, Chicken with rice & vegies, anything really, even spaghetti bolonaise. While my 2 now 3yr old was going through this difficult time, my eldest daughter 4 now 5 was going through the stage not wanting to eat vegies only mash potatoe, so i would dish my 2 and 4 yr olds dinner up in a huge bowl and just blend it all together and they were both really happy little girls. Good luck hope this works for you,

my son can be fussy with textures but I find he is a lot better if he does it himself
we never did the store bought baby foods so I can't help you there, we've always said if we wouldn't eat it we wouldn't feed it to our kids
good luck

Hi! my little guy did this before when I first started giving him chunkier foods so I would have to mash it up a little bit more until he got more used to it and over time he did. All I can say is to keep offering it as eventually she does need to eat what we eat and she will become use to the texture! Good luck!
