how many of you have ur baby on a schedule???

Hi Jamie! As I'm sure you see below - every baby is different! My son has been on a schedule for a few months now:

8 AM - cereal (just started adding that in AM) and 6 oz. (he wakes up around 6AM or so and typically goes back to sleep for a bit)

12PMish - veggie + 6 oz.

4PMish - veggie + 6 oz.

8PMish - 10 oz. plus



I sometimes am concerned that he is not eating enough, but he doesn't complain! Schedule/feed is a must for me (us) since we both work FT and I am in grad school PT and my H travels about 2 weeks out of the month. Works for us, he's been sleeping through the night (9-10 hours) since 3 months - lucky!

Gabriel is 7 months and he's on a pretty decent schedule.

6oz bottle @ 6am

nap

6oz bottle @ 10am

fruit/veggies & 4oz bottle @ 12pm

6oz bottle @ 2pm

nap

veggies/fruit & 4oz bottle @ 5pm

6oz bottle @ 7pm

bath

6oz bottle @ 10pm

bed



He also has finger foods, cheerios, baby cookies and his sippy cup of water daily that he will munch on & sip from at his leisure. He's 21lbs, 27.5 inches tall and is active from the moment he wakes up. He hates baby cereal, I put 1 scoop into his bottle in the 10am bottle if he didn't finish his bottle at 6am, or in his 10pm bottle if he didn't finish his 7pm bottle, and I will put it into his fruit at lunch too. He's teething now so he's not very much into eating his food but prefers the bottle.



He still eats pretty much every 2-3 hours though. And he only eats what he wants too. Some days he doesn't want to eat at all and other days he wants even more! I also have a pretty big boy, but he's happy and healthy and the only thing he hasn't liked eating so far is blueberries.

Keira is 7 1/2 mos. and we do three meals of baby food a day, one rice cereal and fruit, one cereal and veggies, and one meat with leftover fruit or veg from the morning. I am also breastfeeding and supplementing with formula because my supply went way down when I went back to work and she was wanting to nurse every 30 min. She is still nursing or having a bottle every 2.5 to 3 hrs. Food is the only thing she really cries for and so we feed her on her schedule, aka whenever she's hungry. I'm glad that she's still nursing as much as before, because my doc said that at this point the baby food is just to get her used to eating solids. It's not really meeting a lot of her nutritional needs. The breastmilk/formula is still her major source of nutrients, so if she wants me every three hours, that's what she's gonna get! It sounds like most of us are in a similar spot.

No real schedule here. My daughter nurses when she wants it, which is, on average, twice an hour. And she gets no solids. I am not concerned one bit that my milk is not enough for her.

She sleeps when she's tired, and pees when she needs to. At night, we both go to bed together if I'm ready to, around ten pm. My only requirement of her is that she stay laying down during the night. If she wants to get up, I take her to pee, and then we lie back down together in bed. She's free to nurse all night long if she chooses.

It works. She's happy and I'm rested.

My 8 month old daughter is eat 3 meals a day! and is on a schedule. In the morning when she wakes up i feed her breakfast usually cereal.. like cheerios or something like that and some applesauce. and than she usually goes baby to bed a few hours later and ill give her a 4oz bottle than. when she wakes up i feed her lunch. which is usually like a hot dog or mac and cheese. and a few snacks during the day. and at dinner time she eats whatever we are havinf for dinner. she is a really healthy baby!

my son is on whatever schedule he wants I never pushed anything and he's worked out a pretty good one. he'll wake up at 7am and have 4-6 oz then go back to bed until 930-10. about an hour after he wakes up 11ish he'll have "breakfast" rice cereal or oatmeal with fruit or avocado (not sure of amounts we do our own not jarred stuff-1/2 an avocado and 1/2 -1 banana-ish). Then around 2 he goes down for a nap for about an hour. Then 4-5 he has "lunch" usually a meat and some veggies and if he wants some fruit. He will "nap" again around 6 until 7 he has his "supper" at 7 which is cereal and fruit. he has his bath at 8 then casually has a bottle for the next hour or so depending on how hungry he is if he only drinks 4 oz he will be up at 3:30 for another 4 oz. If he drinks 6-8 oz he will sleep until 7:30 am. So all totaled he has:
4 oz formula at 7:30
then another 4 oz with breakfast
diluted juice with lunch 4-6 oz
4oz before nap
4oz at supper
4-8 oz before bed
always has a sippy with water throughout the day (about 16-20 oz formula 2oz juice and 6oz water) very ISH though if he wants more he has more if he doesn't want so much that's ok too.

Alex hasn't slowed his eating down either!! LOL! He's a lil piggy! He eats every 3-4 hours, 6 oz at a time (with rice ceral in his bottle) and then he goes down to bed at 8. He'll go a little longer during this time, and sleeps until about 1, when he wakes up for a bottle, then at 6, then he wakes up for good at 8. After that it's back to every 3-4 hours. I've tried starting him on a some baby food, but he won't have anything to do with it!

My daughter is almost 8 months. She has a 4-6 ounce bottle around 8am, then she will eat a fruit and rice cereal mix around 11 or 12. She then has another 4-6 ounce bottle around 3, a veggie cereal mix meal around 6, and a final bottle at bedtime, around 8.

hey, my son is 7 and a half months. i thought he eats alot and i still think he does. in the morning he will have 210mls milk (im in australia, so i work with mls lol), 3 hours after that he will have a whole jar of cooked food plus very diluted juice (as much as he wants) then 3 hours after that he has another 210 mls milk, 3 hours after that he has a whole jar of custard and 180 mls milk, and then around 2.5 hours after that he has 210mls milk which puts him 2 sleep til the next morning.



i only just switched his bottle that he had with cooked food from milk to juice because i thought he was consuming way to much milk for a day, and he seems fine with it! its pretty much water with about 20 mls of diluted cordial, just to make it have some colour and a little taste.



but yea, i dont think he will want to be out of this routine for awhile and it seems like alot of the day is spent eating lol, especially since now hes teething he is munching on rusks and buiskits during the day to!

My daughter is almost 8 months on the 11th. She still nurses about every 2-3 hours too!! I do have her one a schedule though with solids as suppliment feedings. she wakes at about 7:30(on a good day but sometimes earlier!) nurses, and then 30 min after she has infant cereal with fruit. Then about 1.5-2 hours after she wakes, she goes down for her morning nap about 2 hours. When she wakes up she nurses, then 30 min after that vegi's and meat. Then her afternoon nap varries, at least 3 hours after she woke up from her morning nap, but usually about 2pm and she nurses before it most days. Then at about 4:30 or when she wakes she nurses. Eats dinner at about 5:30-6pm cereal and vegi. She usually goes to bed about 3 hours after waking and I nurse her about 30 min before bedtime, so she'll go to sleep by herself. Then right now, I think she's teething, she's waking once at about 4am to nurse.

My son is about 7.5 months and he eats 3 times a day with cereal and fruit/vegetables. In between his big meals he eats a small bottle as a "snack" plus one bottle at bedtime. He eats a total of 20 oz. daily. But he can go about 4 hours between meals. Good luck!

My son is almost 7.5 months. We have done both formula and breastfeeing with him. I find that with breastmilk, he eats every 3 hours, sometimes even more often, except through the night. When he takes formula, he can go 4 or 5 hours. I really don't think I produce a ton of milk. I pump frequently, and it takes forever just to get 5 or 6 ounces...so I wonder how much he truly gets when I breastfeed

At around 5 months I introduced solids, as my son was wanting a feed every 2 hours during the day! I tried formula, and that didn't make any difference. Now, at 7 months, he is having 3 meals a day, 4 bf/bottles (he is getting 2 b/f & 2 bottles a day since going back to work a couple of weeks ago), and we have just introduced snacks in between (on the advice of our child health nurse) as he is starting to self-wean. He gets b/f at around 6.30am, and then bottles around 10.30am, 2.30pm and b/f at 6.30pm before bed. He is given his solid meals about 3/4 hour to an hour after each b/f or bottle, and finger food for snacks during the day - he absolutely loves to feed himself! He's drinking less and less during the day, but still has his full feed before bed every night, which sees him through till the morning. Each baby is different though.



We were told when introducing solids to start with rice cereal once a day for a week, then to introduce a second meal comprising of veggies the second week, then the third or fourth week, depending on how he was going with the solids, to introduce a third meal which could be veggies, fruit and a bit of custard.

my daughter is 7 and half months and she is on a full shedual now ... solid food and all full 3 meals a day and a bottle after each mean and one during the night she still gets her 24 oz of milk but on a better schedule. its all on the baby... i would say if she eatting that close in bettween try her on baby food , she probably hungry, something solid will fill her so your not feedin her a bottle every 3 hours

do you just give her cereal once a day or do you give a veggie or fruit?? how old is your daughter?
