Hi there, from December 2011 I was battling with severe heart palpitations, throbbing in my right ear, weight loss, eating all the time, terrible mood swings... the list goes on. it was awful. in February I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism caused by Graves Disease. I have been on medication since and am feeling normal again. I go for blood tests every couple of months and they adjust the medication. There are a couple of options available but taking the meds for now is working for me. Good luck and give me a shout if you need any more info. PS my endocrinologist here in Dubai said he sees about 2000 cases of Graves a year and it is mostly women in their thirties.

OMGosh. I just got diagnosed last week with hyperthyroidism. My hair is coming out in CHUNKS. I laugh because I say that I used to have my body and my hair going for me, and now I don't have my body and my hair is going down the drain, literally. :) I am seeing a specialist this Thursday. I am so glad. Do you feel like you are 'pumped up' all the time? My heart rate right now is at 120 resting. It's crazy! I can't wait to get this fixed and hopefully start feeling better. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon!

I actually don't have a thyroid, mine was removed when I was 17. Don't worry, thyroid problems are very easily taken care of with medication. I take meds and when my levels are off I have issues with my hair as well and any number of other things. It's an easy fix though. I know you posted about your libido too. Believe it or not, your thyroid levels can effect that too. Trust me, I've been there! It will all work out:)
