I don't know where to go!

My bank (Huntington National Bank) keeps coming up with ways to charge me insufficient fee funds which start off at $35,00 per charge. I'm really getting sick of it. Every time I go to the bank to talk to them they refuse to do anything about it. They just love taking my money!

I'm constantly checking my account to avoid these charges any way possible and I even keep money in my account at ALL times but I still get these charges. So I've decided this is the last time they're going to take money from me so my question is:

1) What bank do you have?
2) Are they good to you?
3) How much are their insufficient fee fund charges?

Number 3 is the most important question I have. Whatever bank sounds the best to me I'm going to plan on going to. Thank you so much for your help!

so then you bounced a check by not BALANCING your account... how is that the banks fault?

you can't go online check your account and just magically assume everything has cleared and you dont have outstanding checks.... that is what check registers are for and why checking accounts should be balanced and not left to the magic money fairies

The check was marked as a paid transaction a month ago, then as soon as I didn't have any money in the bank it said that it was never paid for. I went to the bank asked for the bank manager, he told me there was nothing he could do about it because what may show up on my computer as paid may not change to paid on their computer for weeks, many people have came in to complain but I was told there was nothing we could do.I don't know if you have a problem with me or not but I have said many many times that this isn't my fault. You're really starting to piss me off. I just asked for mothers to tell me what's a good bank to go to because mine isn't working out. I didn't ask for misguided presumptuous comments about how I need to know how to take care of my affairs.  I'm done with you and your insistant rude comments about how ignorant I must be.I have explaied myself more then enough when I didn't even need to.

that still goes to the balance your check book part... if u did you'd know your account was off... my suggestion go buy a program like quicken or ms money and get yourself straight

we use chase and they are great..not sure about insufficient fees as we dont bounce checks by buying stuff we can't afford

Well Michelle we also don't bounce checks by buying things we can't afford.

and if u think anyone is going to believe the bank just randomally picked you to charge fees too for no reason you must think the people on this board are beyond stupid

Actually Michelle, some of "the people on this board" were thinking you were judgmental and rude. She was asking for help not criticism. Be nice!

and i told her to try NOT bouncing checks then she wouldn't be charged fees...thats helpful.. and i dont care if you think i'm judgmental or rude... i think bouncing checks is rude to the bank and to the company she bounced with

Listen Michelle what Im telling you is I have never bounced a check in my life. What I'm saying is I had $50 in the bank when I checked my online account. I went out bought diapers, baby wipes and more formula which tapped me out. When I came home to check my online account my bank informed me that THEY didn't process the water bill that I payed for a MONTH ago( even though it shows up on my online account as payed for weeks ago) and since I only had $3 left in my account that they applied a $180 fee. I went to the bank and informed them of their mistake to which I was told there was nothing they could do about it and I had to pay the fee.

So I'm very happy that your bank doesn't screw you over and find ways to rearrange your account to make money off of you but sadly my bank and many other peoples banks do. So why don't you try getting all your facts straight or maybe listening when someone says that they didn't and never have bounced a check. I also happen to think that people on this board are NOT stupid, I just think that YOU have things all wrong maybe you should direct those words to yourself.

We had the same problem with Bank of America, so we switched to Bank Midwest, which also has overdraft fees, but they are not as high. I don't remember what the fees are though since we have not had this same problem anymore after switching banks. I hope this helps!

We use a credit union (State Employee's Credit Union). The fees are very small in comparison to other banks in our area....I agree with Deanna. I would check to see which credit unions are in your area. Sorry about the frustration...it can be very aggravating!!

I use Randolp-Brooks Federal Credit Union. Small and not everywhere. They are amazing. I don't know about the fees, but I'm sure they could tell you. There are rules to joining a credit union, but you should check out the Credit Unions in your area and see if you qualify.
