Hi everyone,

Welcome to the October 2008 Babies community, where we chat about our October 2008 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely October 2008 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi I'm Brenna
I have a daughter (6) Sophia who was born on the 2nd of October 2008. She is very much the girly-girl (like her mother!) and loves anything to do with dancing, singing, acting, modelling or anything that includes creativity!

Hi all! I,m Sarah with a girl Sabirah born 12th Oct 2008. she is now in nursery school, surprisingly loving it and waking me up every morning to prepare her for school. She is our 4th and has an uncanny resemblance to our 2nd born daughter, in everything she does, facial expressions, manners, likes and dislikes, intelligence, what can i add on. I love reading novels, listening to music and watching movies, one of these hobbies helps me relax after a long hard day at the office. I am not new to the site but when i joined, i had just given birth to Sabirah and at the same time studying so I had very little time left to any other thing, but now here I am!!!

Hi, I'm Jessica. I'm 22yrs old (my age has nothing to do with my parenting), been married since March 2011, Hubby and I have Daron 9 (step son), Logan 2 our Halloween '08 baby, and little peanut is Due in January 2012! I am a SAHM and wouldn't have it any other way. Logan is one smart little cookie and he loves to learn and he is so eager to start headstart(all though he has to wait to be placed on a waiting list until he is 3yr). He loves to sing and dance, he prefers to fist pump and shakes his behind haha. We live in MI. That's about it for now.

Hi my name is Mandy. I work with adults that have a mental illness. I am married with 4 children, 3 boys and my baby girl. I love to collect I Love Lucy, Phantom of the Opera, butterfly wind chimes and porcelain dolls. Sara was born Oct. 8. She is speaking very fluently and loves to be the center of attention. She tells me she's my little princess. I try not to treat her like that, but she is the only girl. She loves to sing and dance and play games with her brothers. I will be excited once I finally find a preschool for her to go to so she can interact with other children her age.

Hi! I'm Marriott...wife of a US Sailor and mom to daughter, Kyndall born on Oct 22nd 2008. Honestly..she's driving me crazy right now. Her sentences have EXPLODED and she talks coherantly non stop. SHe's into everything and as a stay at home mom...I feel completely inept when it comes to her education. She knows the alphabet..how to count to 20...what her colors are and what they mix to become...but sheesh beyond that I'm lost. She has such excitement in the day and I wish I had 1/8 of her energy and zest for life. We are not having more children..this pregnancy almost killed me lol. We are also about to transfer to San Diego, CA...and I would LOVE to find a mom's group out there just to have someone to talk to that isn't an almost 3 year old lol!

Hello everybody! A little late to the thread, but better late than never, right?!
My name is Alisha, most people call me Ally. I have 2 wonderful children Elianna (05/24/06) and Johnathon (11/16/08). All of my time is spent with my kids, and I am a single mom. I am not working right now, and plan on going back to school once dd starts school.
Baby daddy isn't really in the picture, but we're working on it.
Johnathon, or Lil John, is very much a mommys boy :) and is a very empathetic little man. He likes to comfort his sister when she gets owies and loves hugs, kisses and cuddles. He's very sensitive too, and gets hurt feelings very easy.
When he was a baby, he went through a "blue crying" stage. It almost drove me crazy. Once we were through that, we had to deal with jealousy with big sister. Fortunately that didn't last long.
Now he loves to be read to, especially stories about Santa. His favorite show is 'The Cat in the Hat, Knows A lot About That' and he's learning to use the potty.

My name I Laura, I have a two year old son. I am also a stay at home mom and full time online college student working towards my 4 year degree to hopefully own my own business in the future. My son is a very active little boy and loves the outdoors which is why we are rarely inside on the weekends ,always in the hills rain or shine. He is very photogenic and loves everyone. He is talking up a storm learning new words everyday and always amazing me with what he has to say, always putting a smile on my face. there is never a dull moment around this house. He is going through terrible twos and is difficult for me because I know he is a well behaved child but doesnt always show it.

She loves watching yo gabba gabba and elmo, she is very talkative alot of it i still cant understand what she is saying but she is learning more and more words everyday. She can say her alphabet and count 1-10. She loves being the center of attention, she likes saying hi to everyone she sees when were at the store which has me a little concerned for when she gets older and talking to strangers. She has to older half sisters that she doesn't get to see that often so its like she is an only child, she is also my parents first grandchild so she is spoiled both ways. She is what keeps me going everyday.

Hey all! I'm new to circle of Moms!.. My sister is getting me hooked. My Oct 2008 baby, is Saren. She follows her brother around and wants to do/play whatever he is doing. She was tongue tide when she was born. but she speaks very well. She can be hard to understand sometimes but she's very good at trying to point across with out to much frustration. I'm interested in trying to get her out of diapers. I didn't want to push her to quickly like i did my son. That caused a lot headache. I think she is ready, and i have introduced the potty to her and she has used it a couple times... she has even used public potty when we were going to the lake and she had he bathing suit on .. no diaper.. no accident!! need help with ideas to get her using it more.

My little girl turned 2 on the 1st of October! She's a happy, contented little girl and she can talk really well, count, knows some basic shapes and is starting to recognise her colours, although for a while everything was Pink! The only time I have issues is bed time, either settling or we have a run of going down at 8pm prompt and waking through the night more often than we would like.

Hi, I'm Jesse. I'm 22 and my daughter was born on oct 24th. Right now Abbey and I are in the process of making her birthday cake. She loves to get her hands on everything and anything. She plays with sand, leaves, play-dough, but her favorite is water. She is almost 2 so she's starting to string more words together and loves to mimic people and play dress up (her favorite thing to wear is a multicolored tutu and purple snow boots in addition to her outfit). She loves climbing and coloring. I'm around her almost all day, which definitely wears on me. I am a full time student and stay at home mom. Abbey's has been potty trained, but we have to start all over again. I love her to pieces! And am looking forward to talking more with you gals!

my son is a hard type, once he said NO,means NO for that moment, even though after an hour or so he will change his mind, but rarely he will do that.
as im 25years old,and i have my first experience of having a son, sometimes i have difficulties of solving them.. that's why i join this group,to have wider mind, skill, experience and knowledge will all the other moms, who is having similar age as my son..

Hello! My name is Kasey! I am 25 years old! My twins daughters were born on the 13th. They are the middle children. They have an older brother and sister who are twins and a younger sister. The older of the two is a pure snuggle bug! She loves kisses and hugs and cuddles of any kind! Her older brother is her absolute best friend. It has been that way since the day she was brought home. She adores him so much! She and her twin sister look nothing alike. We often get asked if she and her older sister are twins. She talks constantly but is harder to understand when compared with our other children. I am around her all day so I know what she is saying but others have a harder time. She is a prissy tomboy. She'd give anything to be outside in the dirt with cars, trucks, and balls. She absolutely adores her baby sister! Her twin sister is different than any of our other kids. She definitely enjoys playing with her brother and sisters but she doesn't do it as often as the rest of them. She often plays alone and reads a lot! She's kinda known as the annoying one because she does things purposely to annoy the rest of us, her siblings included. She has the most contagious laugh ever! I've yet to meet someone that can not laugh when she does. She loves to be with Mommy and Daddy. She could happily follow us around all day long! She's not too girlie or too much of a tomboy yet..except for the fact that she loves dirt! She HATES water on her face. She's our one with the attitude though! She loves to share with her baby sister! I worry about these two having that twin bond. Hopefully now that they are in beds and can come and go easier that they will start to choose to spend time together and create that bond! I'm excited to get to know you ladies!
