Losing the baby weight

Hey Amanda! i gained forty during my pregnancy and am now four pounds under my pre-preg weight *yay!* but i still have a bit of that saggy skin on my belly!! I think doing abs on a workout ball really help the lower abs.. hopefully ;)

I gained 65 lbs! I have lost about 35 of it but am at a standstill. I have a hard time eating healthy, it is so hard to take the time to cook good food and unfortunatly that means falling to the fast easy, unhealthy stuff. I just joined a gym and am hoping that will help along with the good weather.

I had my daughter almost 15 months ago, She was born January 24th 2008. I gained about 40 lbs during my pregnancy. I moved to yellowknife nwt, where its Veryyy cold and the winters are very long. I had lost alot of the weight in the following summer but was put on some medications for ppd, and ibs. and I also had alot of internal inflamation and was put on steroids for a while and other meds to help . Before I had hannah I weighed between 130-135 . Now I am feeling horrible about my weight. I havent been able to keep it off, and really wantto get i off.and Keep it off. If you have any advice, please send me a msg:) Thanks

I hear you......I have about 30 pounds to go. What I am scared of is the sagging skin on the belly.....I had my baby on Halloween and I know it's been only three weeks, but it's deflating in a scary way.....does this go away anyone!

hi jamie, i gained 30kg (i dont no pounds lol im n aussie) with my 1st son n i started 2 loose it slowly as i neva breast fed n i had a ceaser so i will always hav a pot lol but this time round with my second i didnt gain alot only 10kg n its just falling off. i was told the best way 2 loose the weight is 2 breast feed as it helps d body realise its gotta go bak 2 d way it was so thats wat i hav done n walkin heaps n eating rite. u will get there eventually. were there is a will there is a way lol good luck xxx

I gained a horrible 60 some pounds. UGH. I had my son 5 weeks and 4 days ago. I am waiting until my 6 week apt to see if my doc gives the OK for more exercise than walking. I had a C-section. I'm also going to start Weight Watchers next week. I have to do something because I feel so horrible about my body. Our weather is turning very cold, so I have to come up with some indoor activities to do. I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself and just take it day by day. Good luck to both of us!!!

i gained 55!!! eek! so im right there with you! i've lost 37 so far as DS is 6 weeks so i'm hoping the last of it will come off with exercise now that i'm able...it also helps that he's allergic to dairy AND soy and i'm EBF so no yummy holiday treats for me!!

Hi Jamie. I gained a bit more then you and I keep my carb intake low and that has helped out alot. I have dropped 33 of the 60 so far and Its only been four weeks. It is kind of easy for me to watch the carbs my 22 monthold was daignosed with type 1 diabetes back in june which you have to look at allthe carbs she eats and counter act them with insulin. I also drink alot of water but watch out some bottled water contains salt which can make you retain water weight. I also walk as much as I can out doors with the girls or hit my treadmill. I hope this helps. It just takes time.

With my first son I gained aout 50 pounds, and felt horrible. When I delivered, I lost about 22 right away, which was wonderful and thought I was doing well until a doctor's appointment. Turned out I was still over 20 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight! I cut back on snacking and poor food choices and ate more vegetables, also as soon as the weather was warm enough, we went for walks. Six months after that I was only a few pounds from pre-preg weight, then got pregnant with my October 08 baby, thankfully only gained 28 with him. It's hard but you can do it! Walk, do video excercises, eat better and drink lots of water!

I lost weight with my first son really quickly, but it took me a good year to loose it all with the second pregnancy. I think the difference was definitely the workout (and time of year). With my 3rd pregnancy, we're getting out a lot more. A minimum of daily walks (with stroller) - there's some great websites out there with ideas for working out while on stroller walk with kids. If you can get to a gym, great! But I know how it is with kids. I've turned to video workouts a couple times a week (Tae-Bo, Hip-Hop Abs, etc) - and my kids love doing it with me. It's all about being determined to be as healthy and active as possible to be the best you can be for your kids. Good luck!
