making the room darker definately helps. my son has always slept 11-12hrs 7-7 usually. i wouldnt sugest making the bedtime later, i tink 8pm is late enough for a little one, you need some time for yourself and partner. if your little one is having more than an hour and half nap in the day, this may be the reason, if i let my son nap for longer than 2 hrs he sometimes gets up a lil earlier. so if he is, wake him up for about a week n see if there is any change.

hi anita. my daughter has always slept in a pitch black room, and slept from 7pm, till 7:30/8am... we had a blackout blind and curtains, and a put a few towels over her curtain rail so it was pitch black in there, then i took them down the other day because we had someone come to view the house, and i left the towels off. her bedroom was so much brighter in the mornings, and she woke up a hour or so earlier than normal, so i put the towels back over the curtain pole, so her room was pitch black again, and shes gone back to sleeping till 8am... if your childs room isnt very dark, that would be my advice, make it darker, then if your child does wake up, and cant see things around his/her bedroom, they might go back to sleep. i been doing this since my daughter was 4 months old, and she sleeps throught all night, everynight... hope this helps, good luck!

Hi Anita, Have you tried prolonging her bed time a little later? My son is 16months and he goes to sleep between 9-9:30pm every night and is up between 6-7:00am, 7:30 on the weekends sleeping in our bed that is : ). He only takes 1 nap during the day usually 1-2 hours. I think if you "can" get her to stay up a little longer that might help. Good luck!

I have a friend that would make sure her baby was comfortable, with a dry diaper and drink of milk and then put toys in the crib and let the baby play quietly for a while by herself in the crib so mom could go back to sleep.

wow. my son used to do the SAME exact thing. Literally like 4-5 days ago he just started sleeping from 8 til about 7:30am. maybe longer once or twice. When my son used to do it, id change him & give him a drink if he wanted it . and then lay him back down . and he'd fall back to sleep til about 8am. If that doesnt work for you, maybe shes just gonna be an early riser. but im sure she'll eventually grow out of it.
