Noah LOVES fruit, but he won't really eat veggies anymore. i've tried all kinds of meat, cooking it different ways, he only wants hot dogs. i give him turkey dogs, but iii don't even eat them, i sure don't want him to.

what can i do to get him to eat meat & veggies? he eats eggs & peanut butter like they're going out of style, but i feel he needs more protein & vitamins...HELP!!!

I just found the best things at my local grocery store in the baby section! They are pouches of mixed veggies and fruits and what not. They are for toddlers and you just let them have the pouch and they squeeze and suck the baby food substance right out of it... he just tried green beans, peas and pears mixed together and loved it! I think he is just stubborn because he doesn't like the way things look so he won't eat them... this is new and interesting and somewhat fun for him!! And they are great for on the go! So as long as he's getting doses of veggies i'm happy for now and still working on getting him to eat veggies with us!! :) Maybe its worth a shot??

since he will eat eggs, have you tried omelets? hide some tomatoes or mushrooms, covered with a good amount of cheese too?

i also make dishes that just so happen to have veggies in them, like paella, or arroz con pollo, which i make with mixed vegetables and he doesnt mind them since the flavor of the rice and meat kind of disguises them

good luck, you are doing the best you can!!!!

eggs are the ultimate proteins and pb is great esp. if you get a unsalted or natural kind or try almond butter/cashew butter if you can find it on sale! Turkey dogs r not that bad of a choice just pick the brand with the least amount of sodium and hopefully a lot of protein. my twins wont eat veggies either, but they eat tons of vitamin rich foods and drinks and take a multivitamin, I just keep serving little bits of them and trying anyway, but hope they will eat it all someday! good luck!!!

I am glad I am not alone in this. My son another Noah won't touch veges unless they are pureed I hide them in spaghetti and stews. It is getting a bit annoying making our meals and then special meals just for Noah. He does love his fruit so that is one good thing at least. It just seems to be night meals we have trouble getting him to eat so now I have started making sure there is plenty of fresh fruit available during the day. He also loves eggs so I keep boiled eggs in the fridge all the time. I just have to remember to make sure the child lock is on the fridge or Noah will walk out with a boiled egg eating it shell and all saying mmmmm apple lol. Anything he likes he calls an apple .

My son will eat almost anything the two days he is at daycare. At home he won't touch fruits or veggies. We buy the Ocean Spray fruit/vegetable juice and water it down a little. It's the only juice we give him. He sure does love meat though!

I think all toddlers go through a picky eating stage. The most important thing is that you keep offering him veggies, every day. And if he sees mommy and daddy eating them and he knows they aren't going away, then eventually he will eat them! I agree with the smoothie idea and the V8 splash...also, any way you can get veggies into other foods, go for it! If you are really worried about it, I would talk to your Dr. or a Nutritionist and see about getting a multivitamin (Flinstones or something fun like those new gummy vitamins).

Remember, do not take vegetables out of the equation! Don't force feed him, but just put some on his plate. It may take a LONG time, but I promise he will eventually jump on the bandwagon. lol

my son loves veggies its the one thing i can get him to eat. he likes to eat corn on the cob, he thinks it silly. We also mix green beans with velveeta cheese. He will also eat carrots that were cooked with stew or with brown sugar and honey. Doesn't matter what you do to disguise it it's still a veggie.

I am going to try the cookbook Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld starting today. My son is the same way. He loves fruit but immediately spits our veggies...all veggies! This cook book has you make purees and add them to recipes so they don't even know they are there, but get the veggies they need. Not sure if it will work, but I am going to give it a shot!

I hide veggies in ground meat (turkey and beef) by shredding it an mixing it in but if your lil one won't eat meat then I'm sure it's hard. My guys only eat protein and fruit, zero veggies. So frustrating. Eggs and PB have a lot of protein. Make sure he is getting a multivitamin but short of force feeding there isn't much we can do but to offer a variety at every meal and sneak what we can into them.

I hope their food habits change soon.

The best thing I've found is a book called "Deceptively Delicious" by Jerry Seinfeld's wife. She has ways of getting 2+ servings of veggies into her food.

Be glad he is at least eating hot dogs. My daughter JUST started eating meat and she is almost 3. She wouldn't touch anything protein including peanut butter and eggs until a few months ago. Have you tried deli meat? Sometimes it's just more fun to eat rolled up. Also sauces can help since dipping is fun! Also keep in mind, eggs are a good source of protein so that's great!

As for veggies, keep offering. We went through a time where veggies were refused but now we are back to eating peas and carrots. Also, my kids prefer them cold so maybe try that if you already haven't.

In the mean time maybe make smoothies with veggies in it. I Have used carrot juice and spinach and my kids love them. Here's a great recipe:

1 banana
2 cups frozen fruit (I use a mixed bag)
About 6 oz of yogurt (I use vanilla)
1/2 cup of milk or so (I didn't really measure that...) Could do soy milk or whatever you want.
2 cups spinach (I used frozen chopped)
2 tablespoons of honey
