my pediatrician says were not baby cows so we dont HAVE to drink cows milk. Try yogurt instead if you are concerned about calcium intake. Mine is not a big fan of milk either, I just use diluted juice in her bottle

You could try gradually giving him it in a smoothie/ milkshae with fresh fruit, or with his cereal before forcing it in the bottle. But I wouldnt worry about it, he will get all his vitamins from his food, or keep him on formula for longer?

ok, my daughter wouldnt drink it at first either, so i put a tiny bit of strawberry syrup in it. and gradually less and less. and now she is fine with it. baby formula is a little sweet(thx to my husband for letting me know lol) so the syrup might help. but not alot, just enough to flavor. hope this helps :)
p.s.... not a good idea if u have not tested her for strawberry alergies!!!!

So don't force him. He can get his vitamins, fats, proteins, and minerals from other food sources. He's not a calf. Nuts and beans for minerals and protein, how about cheese as a subsitute, dark leafy greens, seeds, meats, etc.

um yeah. i cant drink cows milk. ive always been on soy beacuse cows milk will make me throw up ALL night.. im perfectly healthy. i have no complications on the soy. and just because their have been studies doesnt mean that its absolutely BAD for everyone. eggs have added hormones too. yet wee still feed those to our children, unless your one of those people who have the money to buy everything cage free and such.
their are studies on everything you can think of. and everyone comes to different conclusions, and if you choose to only take one side that is perfectly fine. all i was saying is no one in my family has ever had issues with soy. weve all actually had issues with cows milk.
we arent here to tell people what to do, we are here to give advice and help people. not push them into our way of being. so please dont get so defensive just because i didnt take your point of view.
i put up research u stated it was wrong and thers nothing wrong with soy so who's one sided? my daugher can't drink cows milk either and after talking to her ped her allergist and her nutritionalist all of which say SOY is NOT OK... there are other HEALTHY options my daugher drinks coconut milk
and btw i'd be one of those that buys that alot of organic hormone free stuff milk eggs dairy prodcuts and the 'dirty dozen' would be the ones that absolutly have be organic in our house
and if your family has issues with milk you may want to be tested for celiac disease it's genetic and very common

my 1 year old wouldnt drink it either, so we've been mixing it for a bout a week, just under 1/2 formula now the rest whole milk, seems to be working fine, she definatly has her fits where she really doesnt want any milk in it lol, but eventually she will drink it!. ( also my dr said make sure you start giving vit D and iron with whole milk since it doesnt have enough )

yoru daughter is one so u wouldnt know the side effects yet most likely wait till she hits puberty chances are if you continue to give her soy she'll hit it early. theres been plenty of studies of this

my daughter isnt crazy about it either. but i found warming it up a little gets her drinking it a little more.
ps, soy milk isnt bad for your child. and it tastes better to them. i dont know why all the controversey with soy milk. my daughter is fine and she used the soy formula. and if soy is what you want to go with... then do it. doctors wouldnt suggest it to you if they thought it would harm your child.

I had this problem with my son and my sister suggested giving him a bit of choc flavoured milk, then gradually add more plain milk to the choc milk. We had him drinking plain cows milk within a few days, I wouldn't reccommend giving babies choc milk for too long. But the other thing you could try is giving them soy milk, now that my son is 2 1/2 we think he may have food intolerances so we have taken him off dairy, so food intolerance is something to keep in mind.

Have you tried soy? If not I would try that. Many little ones can not tolerate milk very well and soy is a good alternative.

Oh my goodness! I had the same problem with my son. But its not that he wouldnt drink it, it was because he couldnt tolerate it. He was on Soy formula beacuase he had acid reflux. So I tried him with some Silk Soy Milk. Not only does he tolerate it he loves it. Maybe you should try your son on some organic soy milk. Maybe flavored vanilla, he just might like it! And he is getting great nutrition from it. Does not hurt to try it.
