Not Sleeping Through The Night Anymore

My little girl has been sleeping through the night (7 hours+) since she was about 6 weeks old. This week, she started waking up every 3 - 4 hours to eat. I thought I was over that schedule!

Does anyone else have a baby who's eating/sleeping schedule has drastically changed recently? I'm just wondering if she's not getting enough food now to get her through the night. If this keeps up, I'm hoping I get the "ok" from her doctor to start her on solids at 4 months.

def sounds like a growth spurt! My son just went through one and is now sleepindg through the night  and hes not on solids yet as I was told by my midwife that babies under six months can't digest solids properly...

How many oz's are you feeding her? Have you tried to up the oz? or feed her cereal... It could be teething or a cold too?.. My daughter has been getting up at night because of a cold and a week or two before she even got the cold she wasn't sleeping like she used to.

My son Brody goes back and forth as well.  But he has thankfully slept through the night more often lately.  Hang in there!  He is 3mth 2wk and I am so ready to start him on cereal!  My doctor told me to wait until my feb. appt. But I am ready NOW :)

I'm the same here.  He would give me at least 6 hrs of sleep at night, but now I'm lucky if he does 4.  I know he's going through the growth sprut, but I thought it was just suppose to be at least a week at the most.  Also just wondering if anyone else's baby was REALLY fussy at this time?

I would definitely say she's going through a growth spurt.  I'd start her on some rice cereal which is the least likely to cause digestive issues or allergies.  Also make sure she is getting enough to eat during the day which in turn will help get her through the night.

i give my daughter a bit of  oatmeal cereal before she goes to bed. she was starting to wake up, and now she sleeps longer. maybe shes not getting enough food to hold her out till morning.

I could have wrote that post myself. I am thinking that it is most likely her 3 month growth spurt. But man do I miss my sleep!

It is pretty normal for babies to wake up more during this stage for a couple reasons:
1. they are going through a growth spurt
2. they are learning lots of new things (my son has learned to arch his back to get out of something, grab things, and bat at things all this week, so his sleep is terrible at night!)

Make sure she is getting good naps. "sleep begets sleep." and try cluster feeding before bedtime.
