Hello All! I am in the process of potty training my 2 1/2 year old. She loves wearing panties and getting the stickers on her chart. The problem is that I think we are trained to take her, she's not trained to go. It doesn't help that she can hold it for almost 3 hours at a time-that's after two glasses of milk and water! We put her on the potty about every 45 minutes to an hour after the first pee of the day. She is dry the majority of the time during nap and about half the time at night. She never says I have to go, she just gets put on the potty and says I'm going when it happens. I'm not sure if I should be letting her have more accidents so she realizes that feeling. Any tips? She also has yet to completely poop in the potty. She starts in her panties and tells us to go away so we grab her and put her on the potty, but there is usually a bit in her underwear. Any tips on number two? Thanks!

When my daughter first started using the potty we gave her 1 m&m whenever she would tell us she had to go(and actually did go). Once she started getting the hang of the peeing thing we switched 1 m&m out for 1 sticker(we let her pick her own stickers at the store also). Then came the hard part.....convincing my daughter that it was OK to leave her poop in the potty! So the bribery with m&m's returned. She again got 1 m&m when ever she would poop in the potty. once she got that down we turned to stickers as a reward each time instead. She has now been potty trained for about 9 or so months. I will say that i really had to wait for her to be interested in using the potty tho. She was to a point of hating being in a wet or poopy diaper and was constantly taking diapers off.
