my son is 3 months today he has slept through the night since he was 2 weeks. i found that he sleeps better if i give him a bath and then give him a feeder and he seems to sleep alot better  but its different for everyone so try different things

Baby RaeAnna started sleeping throught the night at 2 weeks old. She recently started waking up at 3 or 4, after going down at 10, and her hands were REALLY cold. I put her in a sleeper that has little hand covering things and she sleeps from 10-7 or 8. I also have swaddled her from day one, she wont sleep without it. When she's down for the night, i don't pick her up, i might rock her craddle or rub her tummy but she knows she isnt getting out.

Every baby is different but yours is technically sleeping through the night.  The pedi's says that sleeping through the night is them sleeping for a 5-6 hour stretch during the night.  I started mine with a night time routine and then swaddled him just before putting him to sleep. He sleeps a good 12 hours at night but that is just him.  My first child when he was about 4 months would go to bed around 10 and be up at 6.  This one goes to bed at 7 or 8 and doesn't get up until 8.

my 3 month old goes to bed at 9pm and wakes for one feeding and 3-4 am then again at 7am..and is up for the day... well except for naps. every baby is different

my son started sleeping through the night about a month ago...but i don't really think it's anything in particular that i've done. i think he was just ready because one night he just decided to sleep all night and has done so since then. i wouldn't worry about it because every baby is different and i think eventually he will sort it out by himself.

My son is 3 months today and has been sleeping thru the night since 5 1/2 weeks. He started on Thanksgiving so I thought maybe it was from the turkey. LOL But he sleeps between 8-9 hours every night as long as he is swaddled right. If he can break out of his wrap, then all bets are off. :)

Mine is 3 months, and 1 week. She won't sleep without me. Sleeps at 10pm until 2am. Then wakes every hour after - not necessarily to eat. Gums are bothering her too. Very frustrating and tiring for me - we co-sleep still because of this.

I have a 3 month old who has been sleeping through for about a month now, but his sister who is now 4, only started sleeping through at age 1 1/2!

I have him on basically the same routine as I had her and yet he seems to be a much more content baby than she ever was! Maybe it has to do with personality and the individual needs of each little one? I recommend just going with the flow, they work it out for themselves in the end.

Do you swaddle him at night? My daughter use to go to bed around 9 or 10 and then wake up around 2 or 3 to eat and then back to sleep. One day I bought her one of those swaddle me things and tried it and she slept through the whole night and has ever since! I always make sure to feed her RIGHT before bed, and I keep her in the same routine every night! And I make sure to put her when she is still awake but very tired, that way she puts herself to sleep, which is really hard because its so nice to sit there and rock them when they are sleeping and just look at them. But you want to get this done so you are not rocking a 6 year old to sleep every night! Good Luck!

Most 3 month olds are ready to go through the night, but some aren't. It sounds like he's getting a good stretch in, so he'll probably just continue to stretch as he keeps growing. The one thing to look out for is if his little clock gets stuck. This happened with my first - he kept waking at the same time every night. Once we figured that out, I let him cry it out for 3 nights and then he slept through. With my second, he slept through at 3 months and my daughter, who is now 3 months, is almost there. I do make sure that I feed my babies every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the day until they are through the night and then I extend their feedings to every 3-4 when they are ready. Your son will get there!!

well, I am not sure if all kids sleep through by 3 months - mine is only just 3 months old, and has been sleeping through the night for the past 5 weeks or so.  She tends to feed just before going to sleep for the night any time from 8pm to about 10pm and then does not wake up until 6.30am (at the earliest) 9am (the latest)... she loves a good sleep thank god.  We haven't done anything really the routine has worked itself out.

Our son (13 wks) has just gotten himself back into 3-4 hourly sleeps overnight (we had a week where he was very unsettled). I wouldn't stress too much about 'sleeping through' yet. According to the medical definition, sleeping through is 11:30 to 5:30 (or similar) ... so 6 hours continuous sleep.

Every child is different. So if you're okay and your son's okay, then I wouldn't worry.

Personally, I think the 'sleeping through' babies are the exception rather than the norm ;)

Dont put cereal in his milk, he isnt ready for it and while a lot of people do it, its really not good. YOU need to set the routine for your baby, its hard but work on 2 hour rule, that is up for 2 hours and down for 2 hours sleeping, you need to fine tune it but your baby should be having three naps a day of between 1 1/2 to 3 hours but usually 2 hours so they are tired enough to slep through the night but not over tired so they wont.

I did this and the very first night I tried it it worked for me but please, no cereal, their bellies are not not ready to process it until 6 months or so

I think your little one might just be going through his three month growth spurt. Mine is going through his and he wakes up around 6 after going to sleep around 11. Whereas before he was sleeping from about 10:30 untill about 9. It's probably just a stage it will get better, you just have to be supportive and maybe try to keep your little one up a little later at night. Good Luck!

I don't know if this will help you any, but this is how my son began sleeping through the night. I went out and purchased one of those swaddle blankets, and swaddled him up and he slept through the night the first time and since then he has been doing great. Another thing I have heard is don't pick them up get down on there level so they know you are there and comfort them and they may fall back asleep. Good luck and have no worries your time will come.

I think they are stories, well some may be true and lucky them. I have worked in early childhood field for 13 years and my little one wakes regularly through out the night. I even though knowledgable about sleeping routines looked to liturature and every thing i have read has confirmed that it is normal for infants to wake during the night. Dont doubt yourself, he will adapt and adjust as time goes by...

Both of my babies slept through the night starting at 8 weeks. I think a lot of it depends on the feeding schedule. We feed our son every 3 hours with the last feeding at between 9 and 10pm.

My twins are 3 months old plus a couple of weeks. They have been sleeping the night most nights. Some nights they will go down between 9-10pm and wake again around 4am. I think it all depends on whether or not they are developmentally ready to sleep longer. Try upping the amount you feed at the last feeding before bed.
