I'm coming off my pill this month and just wondered how long it took others to concieve having being on it. i wasnt on it with my first lil one so never had anything to get out of my system??

I am 11 weeks preg this week. Didnt go on pill the second time but i don't remember it taking too long for my body to adjust when i was on it prior to trying for my first. Maybe as its been said - 2-3 months. Good luck :)

Agree w/the others...wait 2-3 months before actively trying to make sure that the hormones are out of your system. Also like others stated, conception varies person to person. It took us 15 months to get pregnant with our first, then I used an IUD as birth control after my son was born for about 10 months, and then the same month the IUD came out, I became pregnant! Go figure. We were thinking it would take 6 months or so to become pregnant, and it happened, i'm pretty sure, on our first try without the IUD. Good luck!

I got pregnant with my 6 year old one month after getting off the pill without even trying... and yet it took 4 months of trying to get pregnant with my daughter and I hadn't taken the pill for years. I guess it's just different for everyone. Good Luck!!!

They advise to be off the pill for 3 full months because the hormones are still in your body and can cause birth defects (its actually in your information that comes with the medication).

It just depends on your own personal fertility, but I would definately wait at least one month before trying to conceive. In fact, my doctor recommended 2-3 cycles without pills before trying just to be sure.

I got pregnant the very next month that I went off the pills. It took a little longer for my Sis-n-law so I think it depends on the person.

I just had my second and decided it was time for birth control my doctor told me with the pills and depo it could potentialy take up to a year to become pregnant again. everyone is different though a friend of mine was off bc and got pregnant within a month. Good luck to you! having 2 so close together is amazing but such a handful.
