What things are your October babies doing?

My sweet boy just loves to play with toys these days. He will chew on anything that comes near his mouth. He was born on the 13th. He is exclusively breastfed, and doesn't care for bottles either. However if he is hungry enough he will take one for me. He can usually only stay up for about 90 minutes before taking a nap. He is not sleeping through the night yet... well the Dr says he is because he sleeps for a 6 hour stretch. I know he will one day. He can roll over but usually doesn't. He laughs at everything, and just loves to watch his older brohters playing. He is such a joy, and I am hoping that he holds off on growing up too fast. My middle son was crawling at 4 months... NOT FUN!! So far he seems to be content just letting mommy cuddle with him.

Mine is huge, he is 3 1/2 months and is over 17 lbs!!!! but he was 10lbs 8oz when born! he laughs a lot, smiles alot, has his 2 bottom teeth so he is exploring them alot with his tongue, eats his hands, can support his weight when standing, rolls to side but not from back to front or vice versa, can grab things, just discovered his feet last week, sits supported, i think no matter what any of them do or don't do they are amazing!

My boy was born on the 3rd oct and is exclusively breastfed and very active - as everyone says all bubbas are different I wish i could get jake to take a bottle now though!!! All he wants is boob! He laughs, drools, coos and loves being tickled! Also a giant baby - any tips on helping jake to take the bottle much appreciated!

my baby girl was born on the 4th of oct . she is not that active but very vocal. she loves to sit up. she also loves her big yellow rubber foot, she has found her hand and can stay on her tummy for about 5 min but she has not learn to roll over yet. which is kinds scary. doc say its fine but I'm always worried since she is my first baby. i'm breast feeding her and i look at all the moms who have decided to bottle feed there babies, realized that there babies are more active than my baby. sometimes i wonder if i made the right choice by breast feeding her.

my l ittle girl was born ont he 6th of october. she smiles constantly and laughs a lot to.   she just found her feet about a week ago,  she can rool from her front to back but has not yet gone from back to front, she is getting close though, my little angel GROWLS like a dog and it is so cute, and funny.  she can stnd up with a little support  and she absolutly love to sit up and look around at everything.    including the tv.

Grady was born Oct. 3, he is cooing, laughing, loves to chew on anything he can get his hands on. He is pulling on his toes, eats non stop, still co-sleeping. He loves bright lights and for you to talk to him....he smiles so big. He does not like tummy time at all loves to be able to see what is going on.

My baby was born Oct. 1st, she is standing every chance she gets while holding onto hands, sits up really well-not quite by herself yet..shel sleeps from 10-8am, she is cooing, smiling, and just started laughing...she is really tall so has outgrown her 3month clothes too!

My daughter was born Oct.8th. At 5 weeks she figured out how to roll from tummy to back. She can stand strong on her legs, squeals, smiles, talks and started to giggle(best sound ever!) She found her hands and feet. Grabs things and puts them in her mouth. She can push her chest up when having belly time. She also sits up with just a little bit of support. She also goes to bed near the bottom of her crib and when I go to get her in the morning she is at the top!!

my son was born on oct 9th and he stands holding my fingers for a few weeks sits with support and if hes wide awake hes able to sit up alone for a lil bit then wobbles over smiles and chuckles hes knows his hands and takes out the binki and can put it back in his moulth

My Madi was born on the 8th of October. She is a big lil smiler and is drooling like crazy!  Her sister started teething around this age and i am wondering if she is now starting too!  She loves to play Goo Goo GAa Gaa with us and is all about focusing on everyone (especially mommy) She has rolled over, ALOT.... and during tummy time she likes to push up!  She loves her hands.. and tries to hold her bottle!  I can't believe all the neat things she's doing.

My daughter was born on Oct 31 and she loves to smile. She has recently started chewing on her hands and drooling like crazy! She doesn't have much interest in toys yet, but will look at the pictures in books when I read to her.

My Little girl is three months and 1 week old she loves sitting in her bumbo chair as soon as i place her in it she stares straight at the tv even when it is not on. (she gets this from dad who loves watching tv :) ) she also loves to grab her toys and put them in her mouth or she grabs them and throws them across the room she also loves to smile and laugh and she also loves to try and sit up by her self when she is laying down she can get pretty far doing it to. She also loves to chew on her fist's and when we have her stand she can stand for a few minutes and she even moves her feet one at a time like she is walking she is so cute i love her to death.

My son was born on the 10th! Any one else have babies that day? Xavier is rolling over now, from mostly back to belly. He eats cereal two times a day. Loves chewing on the fingers. We took him to the dr. and she said that he is surely teething now. He has oral thrush right now for the second time...so that stinks. He is adorable and I couldnt ask for anything better!!! :)

My daughtrer was born October 2nd. She smiles and giggles. Can grab things and puts anything she's holding in her mouth! She notices people and can fix on an object and watch it for ages. She sleeps through now and hardly sleeps during the day. Ermmmmmm she recognises her bottle as feeding time as she gets all excited lol She babbles away sometimes for ages and will squeal if she not getting any attention. Can sit up with some support and if propped by cusion she will try and force herself forward into a sit up position. She hasn't attempted rolling over yet.

My son was born October 21st and is now 26" long and probably close to 14 lbs. He LOVES sitting in his Bumbo. We've started putting the tray on it and he's starting to bang his toys on it. He just started the standing up holding our hands thing and really seems to enjoy it. It cracks us up! He likes all things that light up. He's not the biggest fan of tummy time but tolerates it a bit. He chews on his hands all the time and drools all over the place! He just started laughing at us yesterday when we laugh at him.

Basically, he's our source of entertainment! He also likes football (I think from listening to it so much in Mama's tummy!)

our daughter was born on the 11th October. She squeals now so load, coos and laughs her little head off. She has started sitting up and pulling herself forward and does really well at supporting her own head. She stands up for some time now also. She grabs her toys when playing on her baby gym and takes them to her mouth for a good suck. She swings her legs up high in the air and sometimes manages to grab her toes. Her Daddy puts them in her mouth but I tell him not to as they haven't been sterilised, obviously.

my baby girl was also born Oct. 7th, she has a full grasp on grabbing for things pulling my hair putting anything in her mouth that she grabs... she rolls over and when you stand her up while supporting her under her arms she can do it by herself with very little support, just dosn't have the balance to do it on her own, shes a very stong baby. Shes also sleeping trought the night. What is your baby doing?

Awww.. Hoiw cute. Mason is a big cooer... So funny how his voice changes ( he will coo to me and then turn around a yell at his mobile LOL),,But my boy HATES tummy time lol.. so he learnt ti roll over and now he just won't stay on his belly lol.

I forgot to mention she loves tummy time.... she seems to love independence if that makes sense..... to not be restriccted etc...

but I do find the coooing really funny - it is like she is having a conversation... it's beautiful :)

My Lil Chloe was born 19 Oct 08, and she loves sitting up, with little support, tries to stand up assisted, which is so cute, loves her jolly jumper and bumbo because she is pretty independent, she drools like no tomorrow, grabs on to things but has no idea how to let them go or when she does it's usually with a crash bang, laughs, smiles, coo's, tries to hold her bottle, drools like no tomorrow (apparently its her tummy getting ready for solids according to the child health nurse) and well the big one is she has slept through the night for the past 5 weeks. She loves being cuddled by everyone :) She has always been easy to settle :)

My Cade was born on the 14th. He follows me with his eyes. He his a huge smiler, laugher, and big time gigler, and coo-er, its like he is having a full conversation. Ha. Too fun. He has ZERO leg strength or desire to be up on his legs, but loves to be sitting up (with still support on his back). He is a decent sleeper, and a big big boy.

When did you guys start the excersaucer. I don't remember when I did with my daughter. Is it time??? Already?? Oh my its going by too fast.

oh my gosh, this made me laugh.  Glad my Crosby is not the only one!  If we put him on the floor gym, facing away from the tv, he will literally crane his neck so he can watch football instead! lol!  Put him in his swing, exersaucer..whatever.  The kid likes tv & I can't stand it.

How Funny! My son loves to watch football too! If football is on the tv he will get upset if you even stand in between him and the tv. But if football's not on it's like the tv doesn't exist.

My son was born Oct. 16th all he does is suck on his hand and rolls from tummy to back. He did just start giggling out loud this week forever he had the giggle look but nothing was coming out but he has caught on face with making noise. He can sit up with something propped behind him but if he can get to back he will.

My son was born on Oct 15...He loves to watch football on tv..He has been a total drool box ever since he has discovered his hands about 3 weeks ago...He HATES HATES tummy time, he will go for a bout 2-3 min then just screams...He loves being on his back...He is almost to the point of rolling over,he kicks his feet and then rolls to his side...He also is a great talker and he watches my husband & I when we get up and walk away he will turn his head all the way around to keep us in his sight...He can sit up with a little proping...And thank god for my migrains he is sleeping mostly threw the night...

Ok, I just want  to say that while it's kind of good to know milestones, DO NOT start comparing your baby to everyone elses!  I have two friends who's babies were born within a week of mine, and I compared them all the time and pretty much stessed myself out for nothing.  It's great that another October baby is laughing already, but hey, mine will too when he's ready.

My daughter was born on the 30th and is (as of today) in love with the ultrasaucer. She started actively playing about three weeks ago. She reaches for things and tries to affect change on her toys. She "talks", she giggles, she has figured out that if she pushes with her foot when on her tummy, she'll flip, but I think it freaks her out because she shies away from it. She is tracking easily and doesn't cry for food or sleep, but if she wants to socialize and no one is getting the hint, watch out.

Hi my son was born on 10th oct 2008, hes an absolute crack up, he starting to giggle. Has the most beautiful smile, and lots of hair lol. I call him Mr chatterbox because he is constently chatting away to himself , he loves to stick his whole fist in his mouth to the point he makes himself sick but he just keeps smiling. He doesnt sleep much during the day (more like nana naps) but sleep the whole night which is good.

oh lucky you my son won't ever sit and be happy for more and 10 min he HATES tummy time but he wont sleep on his back i do give him cereal cuse he used to spit up ALOT now that i started that he rarely pukes he was tiny when he was born only 6lb 14oz  he has grown so fast he was wearing 0-3 mo at only 2 weeks !!! my oldest son wore preimie clothes till like 2 months !!

My daughter was born oct. 31st.....she has been able to hold her head up since she was born witout any support...in the last couple of weeks she has been smiling like crazy! Loves to smile after you wake her! She rolls over and likes to kick her little feet..she coo's alot and is almost sitting up! She also likes to watch spongebob on tv. i came to find her favoirite color to look at is yellow...she also will sit under her jungle gym for about a hour and smile at the lights!!!

My baby was 3 months on Jan 7...he is about 18 lbs and I cannot seem to keep him full either. I will be asking the Dr about rice cereal at our next visit. He likes to eat, eat and eat some more. He likes to suck on his hands and blankets and basically anything he can put in his mouth. He smiles and is making lots of noises now.

my daughter is 14 weeks and weighs 10lb 6onz, she only drinks a 4onz bottle every 3-4 hours, she still fits in to some of her newborn things, but health visitor says cos shes putting on weight shes fine. havent tried baby rice yet but might cos she still gets us up during night sometimes twice!

My baby was 16 pounds and 26 inches long at 2 months. We go to his four month appointment in a couple weeks. I can't wait to see how much he ha grown. By two months I couldn't fit any 0-3 month clothes on him and some of his 3-6 and 6-9 months clothes don't even fit. I asked the doctor and she says he is just going to be tall. I have a grandpa, uncle, and brother all over 6ft 3in so I hope he gets those genes. Have you started feeding your baby any rice cereal? I noticed I could just not keep mine full so I have started to give him rice cereal at night before his bath and he seems to be sleeping so much better. Even though some people will tell you to wait until your child is 4 months old.

My baby girl was born on October 31st. She is so beautiful. She can sit up with very little support. Can stand up by herself( of course she holds on to our hands) She is starting to realize that she has hands lol She tries to eat them all the time. She recently became a slobber box. I think that she may be starting to teethe. She HATES HATES HATES being on her belly. She throws a fit. I haven't figured out yet how to make her roll over. It is hard b/c she always wants to be sitting up looking at everything. She loves to watch any kind of movement. Me washing dishes, folding clothes, ETC. She smiles all the time, and coos. She is particularly happy when she firsts wakes up. She tries to hold on to her bottle but she doesn't realize yet that she can. She usually just grabs on to it and squeezes it with one hand while she eats. She sleeps all nite. THANK GOD!!!! She isn't that big though, she weighs 11 1/2 pounds and is 22 inches long. Although we haven't been to the doctor for about a month. So she may be weighing at about 12 or 13 pounds now. I know that she is def. growing. It seems like she has trippled in size. It is very depressing. I wish they would stay little forever.

my daughter was born oct 4. she too is about 14 lbs and just over 24 in. she eats everything she can get her hands on, including my arm. she'll pull her shirt up to chew on it she's figured out how to take her soother out and put it back in properly. very close to sitting up on her own. she hasn't rolled over yet. but she loves tummy time.she laughs VERY loudly, either at someone or something, or just when shes laying alone in her crib. she has her favourite cartoons already, we found them on pbs kids. i can tell which she prefers by how intently she watches them

trevor will ne 3 months on the 25th.  He hasn't yet REALY found his hands , he sucks on then but that about it . he loves to smile and laugh and he baby talks like crazy since he was 2 weeks old . he can support his own weight while standing . he focus's on me very well and also loves tv lol. he has only rolled over from tummy to back a rew times though.just wondering does anyone else have a gaint baby lol he weighs 14 lbs and is 24 in long ??

Jessica will be 3 months on the 27th. She is a smiler and a cooer. She hates tummy time so much she immediately rolls from tummy to back when I put her down. She just found her feet and loves to eat her hands. She follows me with her eyes and likes to try to get the keyboard when I'm holding her at the computer...like now. Like Carrie said every baby moves at their own pace, if there's something you get really concerned about you can always talk to the Dr.

I have B/B twins born 10/29 and they seem to be a week or two apart in doing different things, but they both smile like crazy, ooo and ahh, squeel from time to time, love their kick toys and bouncing chairs with lights and music when they kick, they'll both follow me visually and look for me by voice. Staring at their hands and of course trying to eat them whole is newfound. Tummy time is not enjoyed by one and the other likes it for 5-10 minutes. They definately have minds of their own and patterns of behavior that are already established. One likes this, the other that. Pretty amazing to watch them together and see the developmental differences that you wouldn't usually notice if you only had one. I think it's important to note that if someone is reading this and their October baby isn't yet doing all of these things, give it a week or two. It's not abnormal for different kids to develop at different paces. :)

My baby was born October 19th and he smiles, giggles, can very nearly sit up, he can grab for his rattles and knows what to do to make it make a noise, loves chewing his hands, can stand strong on his legs, focuses on me and my husband and follows us about, sleeps throught the night!!!!

He is smiling and squealing, Sits up with minimum support on his back, stands fully supporting his weight on his legs holding on to us, plays with his hands constantly and has just discovered his feet. Just learned and is reaching out to hold his rattle but can't yet figure out how to get the appropriate part in his mouth. Rolls from tummy to back..but not the other way at all! Sounds like he is normal from what you ladies have posted.

My baby was born Oct 22, 2008 and this is what she's doing: when lying on tummy, she can lift her head up and stay that way for longer than 10 min., she squeels (as of last week), she focuses more when looking at me and even follows me and watches me do things around the house. She does stay away longer, maybe the longest is 2 hours. She is not playing with her hands, or toes yet as the "First Five Commission of San Diego" states babies between 3-6 months may do. Other things she has not done yet are, rollf rom back to tummy. She is actually gonna be 3 months this Thursday.What is your baby doing now?
