What time does your child wake-up?

My baby boy is 10 months old it don't matter what time he goes to sleep he always wakes up at 7.30 also if I give him milk if he wakes up At like 3-4 am it tends to give him a boost of energy and he's awake for hours he doesn't wake up very often at 3-4 am just didn't know if there was anything I could do to maybe not make him full of beans after milkn

my 18 month old goes to bed between 9 & 10 and sleeps til at least 8:30 sometimes later, but i do know that with my 4 year old when she was younger, even if you put her to bed later than usual she would just get up earlier, so good luck if you try that :)

7.30am and there's a complaint? Our son goes to bed and is usually asleep just before 7.00pm but wakes any time after 5.00am. Our day generally starts at 5.30am. He goes down for a nap about 12.00 and will sleep usually 2-3 hours. I've read in a few places that putting them down later doesn't necessarily make any difference to the wake-up time. And in fact, that means they've just had less sleep then. A couple of times we've been running late getting to bed, he's woken up at exactly the same time anyway. As my husband doesn't get home from work until about 7.30pm, putting our son to bed by 7.00 allows me to get dinner finished and have a few minutes to breathe before my husband gets home and we can then spend the evening together. We've had the same bed-time routine since he was 3 months old and he is now motioning towards his cot during storytime as if to say "I'm ready for bed now". A 6.00 or 6.30am wake-up would be great. For those who are putting their kids to bed much much later...my only worry, if it were me, would be changing that routine well in advance of kindergarten/prep school/pre-school commencing...and one last thought. There's always someone else's baby that sleeps better than yours.

7:30 doesn't seem early to me! My daughter (18 months) wakes up around 6:15 most mornings. If she sleeps until 7, that seems late to us!

my 18mon goes to bed between 9-10 PM and is up between 8-9AM. Sleeps through for most of the nights

my 17th month old goes to bed at 9pm and wakes at 9am. If i let her stay up any later than that she still will wake at 9am. which is because the 9 pm bedtime has been the routine for almost a year now.i dont even have to make her go to sleep she automatically gets tired at that time so when i put her in her crib she goes right to sleep.But she started sleeping threw the night at like 4 months so shes always been good with that it just depends on the baby some babies need more sleep than others.also the more naps they take during the day the less they are going to sleep at night. my daughter takes one nap during the day for 2-3 hours.

My 18 month old son, goes to bed around 9.30pm - 10.30pm, and wakes up 9am. Its not really late compared to the time i get to bed but has become some what of a routine

My kids get up at 6 no matter when they go to bed so bedtme is 7 pm. Be grateful. I would kill for 7:30!

I guess Amber is right, it all depends how late she goes to bed. My 18 month old goes to bed around midnight and wakes up around 10 am (she takes 1 nap now, about 2 hours long). I would say try delaying your baby's nap(s) a little, that way you can put him/her for a night sleep later, too. Maybe then you'll get an extra hour or two of sleep :)

our son wakes up around 9 usually (although he has 8:30 days and 9:30 days). depends on when he goes to sleep we used to have 8 bath then 830 bedtime and it was taking longer and longer lately to get him to sleep so we've switched to 9 bath and bed after that it seems to be working- basically he sleeps 12 hrs so if he goes to bed at 9 he sleeps till 9

I have 3 children and thay all get up early. Kayla(18mths)is anywere between 4 and 5 in the morning. Ethan (5years)gets up at 6:00, and Elyce(8years)Has just stared sleeping in till 7:30!!. I have tryed putting them to bed later but thay still get up early and then there grumpy for the day!!

This is awesome!! My son finally started sleeping until 5:30 am and he woke up at 3:30 or 4 am for the first year of his life! I wished that he would sleep to 7:30 am!! He is 17 months old and maybe once or twice a month he will sleep till about 6:45, he has only slept till 7 once in his life.

My daughter is 18 months old and she will go to bed around 9:30-10pm...then she gets up around 11:45am. I know that this is not normal, but my 6yr old daughter was the same way until she was about two and half...then she started to get up earlier...like 8am. I come from a family that loves to sleep so I think that it is our genes to sleep along time!

You r lucky that your lil one gets up that late my 18 month old gets up at 5:30am just about every morning. I wish there was a way to ge him to sleep until 7:30 that would b great. I find it a struggle to keep him awake until 11am thst when he has his morning nap and that will last about 2 hours, and he goes to bed arround 7:30 8:00.

Hi Katherine, my baby boy wakes up at about same time, say between 7:30-8am every day. He goes to sleep at about 9pm and takes a nap of 2 hours after lunch every day too. My daughter, who's just turned 3, is totally different. When she was 17 months old she didn't go to sleep till at least 9:30 but didn't wake up till 9 am either. I think as long as they get about 12-14 hours they are okay. My daughter just tends to sleep later while my boy could fall asleep as early as 6:30 pm before he was 1 year old.

mine goes to bed between 930pm and 10pm every night and if i let her sleep uninterupted shell sleep til 930am or 10 am. sometimes later depending when she actually falls asleep.

Our youngest (18 months) was waking with the sunrise for a while. I tried putting a thick blanket over the window to block a good bit of morning sun from coming in, and it increased his sleep time by 2-3 hours every morning. My 5 year old has always been an earlier riser (up around 5:30 or 6), even going to be by himself without being told if it gets too late. And my 8 year old girl is a night owl (she can stay up until 1 or 2 am) and would sleep until noon, if allowed. All kids are different. All 3 go to bed between 8:30 and 9.

Just remember that every baby is different and needs a different amount of sleep. It depends on when she goes to bed, how many naps she takes during the day, etc. The harder that kids play during the day may help her to sleep better and longer!! Kids onlysleep as long as they need to.

My daughter is 18 months and originally she would get up at 7:00am. But in the last few months it's been getting earlier and earlier. She's been getting up at 5:00am. It's been really hard on us. But I hope it will change.

My baby is waking up around the same time, a little earlier than that, but she sleeps about 12 straight so I can't complain. I also have to get up to get ready for work around that time too so I would be up anyway.

my LO gets up between 5 and 6 every morning, and this is later than it was, for a while he was getting up around 4 every morning. He goes to bed between 6:30 and 8 depending on when he takes his afternoon nap. Doesn't seem to matter how late he stays up he's still up at the same time....just grumpier!

I would love it if my son slept that late! He's an early one - 5:30am on average. 6:30 is like a total sleep in day and pretty much never happens...just a few times!

Oh boy. Following up my previous reply--2 nights ago my girl had a night waking for whatever reason from 3:40am-5am and only slept further--in our bed no less--till 7am which is *late* for her. And this morning she got up at **5:30am** ugh. This is after she went to bed at 8:30pm and I went to bed at 1:30am so only 4 hours sleep for me and 9 hours for her. I thought of this thread and what I wouldn't give for a kid who slept till 7:30am!!! :-)

My daughter used to wake up at the crack of dawn evey morning - 6:30am! Now she wakes up at all different times. Some mornings she will wake up at 7am and some days she won't wake up until after 9am!! The patterns are supposed to get more consistent but I think it all depends on your child.

I have an 18 month old daughter and she sleeps from 7pm to around 7am. I think 12 hours sleeps for this age is normal. When they drop their daytime nap they'll probably sleep a bit later (I did say probably!!). I also have a 17 year old and we can't get her out of bed so you just need to wait 15 years or so lol

Just so you know 7.30 is good other friends with children are up at 5 or six that I know my four year old is up at seven most mornings sometimes later and my18 month old is up at about eight. I think 7.30 is great especially when start going to pre school it's a good time for them to wake x

My 18 mth old daughter goes down anywhere between 7-7.30pm and wakes anywhere between 7 and 8am.

She still has a arvo sleep, goes down by 12.45pm and wakes about 3.30pm.

My son wakes up around 7.30 also, sometimes later if he has gone to bed abit late, his normal bedtime is 7pm!! If your child sleeps to much during the morning it can create a unstable sleep pattern for when they are older, My son gets up for two hours then goes back down for a nap.. That in my opinion is the best way to have it as he's in a routine and its not that good to put them down too late just to get a sleep in because you will find you are not getting enough "me time"

My 18 month old goes down around 7:30 and wakes up at 5 a.m. but that works perfectly for me because I head to the gym at 4:30....my 6 month old goes down around 7:15 and wakes at 3:30-4 a.m. AND mommy goes down at 8:30pm. I'm sure it will change once they get older but mine wakes up during the night sometimes and I have to go in and hold her to 2 minutes and she goes back to sleep, anyone else have that problem???? And a solution as to how to get her to stop?

My 17mth old wakes up at 7am. That does not mean I have to get up then too. He amuses himself for another 30 minutes or more. I keep a couple of toys in his cot for the morning. Sometimes I hand him a drink a leave him to it. He did protest at first but only a little. He's used to it now. I hear him chattering away on his own and am able to go about doing what I need to get done.

Here's an idea. Don't resent this time of waking up. Set up your body clock to agree with this time mentally. It has worked for me. I used to be a very late riser.

well i have a 3 yr old and an 18 month old so they compete to wake up. sometimes its 4am sometimes its 7. alot of the time my 18month old wakes up at about 9am.

Mine is up by 6:30 every morning no matter what time he goes to bed. He's my first so I don't know if it will change I know he use to get up at 8 but a couple months ago he started getting up earlier.

hey, maybe you can try giving him a bottle at night instead of breast feeding, that way you will know how much he has consumed and he may sleep thru the night. I also breast fed until 12 months but gave him a bottle at night and did not feed him at night time... you need to drop one night feed on a weekly basis until ur baby does not need milk at night anymore.

Well, my son goes down at night between 7:30 and 8:30 and he will wake anywhere between 7 and 9 but its usually 8. It depends on what we did the previous day and what kind of naps he had gotten also. Not all babies are the same, but most of my nieces and nephews and friends children sleep between 10 and 12 hours and wake around 7. You can try putting your LO to bed later so she may sleep in later. My friend does that. She puts her daughter to bed at 10 and she sleeps until 10 or 11 but my son was never one to sleep in later judt because I put him to bed later., actually he'd wake up earlier. Weird.

When my 18 month son was 6 month old, he would wake up at 6am, took his milk, gaggling with me, then I got him ready for school. But now, he don't do that anymore. The earliest is at 7am.

I too would say 7.30 is GREAT! My now 18 month olds (15 months corrected) wake around 6am and I think this is great compared to what they used to do - 4.30!! They go to bed at 6.30 pm.
