What to bring to the beach

unless your beach has a bath house I would bring a gallon jug or two of water and leave it in the car to warm. when you're done use it to wash the baby off before getting back in the car. sunblock, a hat, toys, a towel and some kind of shade if you can't rent an umbrella already set up.

I bring a small blanket for sitting on, save the towels for drying off. Sunblock, light coverup and hat, a few toys and snacks, etc.
One thing I also never go to the beach without is a cheesecloth baggie filled with baby powder. Sand falls right off instead of swiping and rubbing on their skin; and won't stick to baby when they sit on the sand. I keep it in a ziploc to keep it from dropping powder all over the place. It's awesome.
When I went to the beach with my three year old and I was pregnant with my son, another family had a little one about nine months and they had the coolest thing. They had gottten a little blow up pool that they filled with sea water. Their little guy could play in the water without actually getting in the ocean. Seeing as the ocean was rough that day, it was a really great option. It's a bit of work, but if you are concerned about safety, it might be an option. Have fun!
