With my 4 older kids i started giving bottles of 4oz of formula and 2oz milk at about 10 months, and worked my way to straight milk at about 1 year old.

i have started mine on cows milk she now has 60 mls in all her bottles if you just all of a sudden stop there formula at 1 then just give them cows milk they will get constipated you need to gradually introduce the milk, they can still get constipated with just that little bit in there bottle but their body gets used to the change like everything else.

I agree with many of the posts that say talk to your babies doctor. The general rule is to wait until they are a year for allergy reasons. But, your pediatrician should be able to give you the most accurate information to base your decision on. Personally, I'm waiting till my daughter is a year.

My baby is 9months and 3 weeks old....I've already given him cows milk in cereal and he has reacted well to it....i guess it's all in what the baby can tolerate...but if your not sure, wait until the first year

our pediatrician said to start adding other dairy before milk, but once you've done that anywhere between 9-12 months. You just have to start slowly I was told to keep his morning and night bottles formula but to switch his afternoon nap bottle to WHOLE milk we tried today and he didn't mind so after a week or 2 maybe we'll switch his morning one as well he will still get some formula everyday until he's 1 though. Also once you do switch you need to make sure they are still have infant cereal at least once a day as whole milk doesn't have the iron that the formulas do.

Ask your doctor. They usually start cow's milk at 1 yr unless they are lactose intolerent

i didn't give whole milk to my daughter, she will be 3 in sept, till she was one and she now hates milk period. I have started giving my son whole milk and two at 7 and a half months. I know it is early but he would only get 5 oz once a week and i started giving him more as he got older. The ped said it was okay because he solid! Talk to the doctor but the more and mroe i deal with my kids the more i notice doctors dont know everything. Listen to your child as well as the doctor and your gut

My daughter is 10 months and I started putting whole milk in her cereal and mixing a couple oz. in with her formula. I'll keep slowly adding more so she is fully on whole milk at 1 year. She is doing fine so far. its good to also start with other dairy products first like yogurt and cheese. I have been giving her that for 2 months already.

Some people switch at around 9 months, but i'm not going to start adding cows milk until my daughter is 1. That is what her pediatrician says.

my daughter is almost 10 months and i've started to add 2 ounces of regular milk in with her night time formula bottle...i've been doing it for a few weeks now and she seems to like it...and as she gets older i will start adding more regular milk to more formula bottles til shes totally switched. hope this helps.

You should ask your child's pediatrician to see what they recommend. I have a 9 month old and her pediatrcian says to switch her over to whole milk when she turns 1 year old. My sister switched her kids (they are 5 and 3 now) over to whole milk around 8 or 9 months. I think I am going to wait until my daughter is 1, but my niece and nephew were just fine.
