I have started putting my daughter on the potty when I know she is pooping. She has no idea whats going on . I just want her to be comfortable with it and not scared. We also say poop and peepee when ever I know she is going. she is 13 mo now.

My oldest daughter is going to be 2 on Saturday, yeah!!. Her and sister show interest in bathroom only because they love to take baths, doesnt matter what time of day it is,but anyway I am not really going to push her that hard because like my mom says " there isnt an adult who doesnt know how to use the potty". My sister didnt push her daughter and I guess a couple weeks ago she went in and use the potty all by herself which is really awesome.

I read an article that you want to start around 18 months and no later than 2 years or you might miss the most trainable times. I'm actually having my 2nd child right when Kaia turns 18 months, so I will be starting right then. I will be home a lot, and will have enough diapers to change all over again! Plus, money is always an issue =) lol

we've got the potty and are ready to start introducing it, just want to wait for a week when we know we're going to be home lots!!, some say it wont work till at least 2 or 3, others have their kids trained by 9 months!!. i think it depends on your child. mine shows tons of interest in the bathroom, so i dont think it can hurt to try it out!!
those telling yo uthey have their kids trained at 9 months are incorrect... they have themselves trained to notice the signs that the child has to potty which is not potty trained it's parent trained
Thats quite possible, but their child is still going in the potty and they arent having to change diapers!!!
:)
yeah but they are probably spending half their day worring about when the kid has to go to the bathroom not sure about you but i have more important things to do with my day

apparently u can start from 18mths. u cant start toilet training until the child knows when they have done a wee. it they look down at them selves urinating then they are ready.

i plan to do with my daughter what i did with my son..around 18 months take her to pick out her potty and her big girl undies putt he potty in the bathroom leave the undies where she can see them show her to sit on the potty ONCE then leave her be till she decides she's ready to use the potty.... my son decided at 26 months *which is really early for a boy* to use the potty he completly including night trained within 3 days it's easier to just let them do it when they are ready
