I had my son's first party at my mom's it is more spacious than my home and I figured that it was better than spending a lo of money on chuck e cheese and places like that and he really doesn't know what's going on. He had a blast and it was a good turn-out.

My daughter's will be at our home. It's a small place, but it will be the easiest. My hubby will be barbecuing on our patio, and we're not doing much in the way of decorations.

I had it at our apartment complex pool cabana. I think it's best to stay close to home just in case! We live in Florida so even though his bday is the end of October, it was beautiful weather and we had a nice time outside for the day.

We rented a pavilion at a local park with a playground and had a super time. All the kids were occupied. Plus, I didn't have to clean my house afterwards.

I will have it at home, not to many kids because i know he will want to go to sleep soon and he will get crancky so keep it short and cheap.

My twins' first bday will be at home. This means we will have to exclude friends and only do a family thing, though. I am so excited for this day. Their sock monkey themed outfits are all picked out. Having it at a park was a suggestion but there is no way I can be THAT organized. That just seems like too much work for me to coordinate food, cake, naps, etc. My poor husband would be running back and forth to the house to get what I forgot.

Good luck all!!

I am having Olivia & Clodagh's 1st birthday at home as I hope being in a familiar environment will help reduce crankiness. I am having a Winnie the Pooh themed party but this is more for the older toddlers coming. Although it will be a bit of a squeeze as my house is small, the party will only be about 2 hours long as I think this is long enough for small children.

I had my Son's 1st bday at home under our verandah, and we will be having our Daughter's 1st bday at home under the verandah also. If you have a nice space that is big enough at home, I think it's a great place to have it, you can alternate between having a party at home & having it out somewhere for something different. We haven't done dress ups or themed parties, they are a bit young to understand. I also made their cakes myself, nothing fancy, just a round cake made to look like elmo's face and for my son's 2nd, I put a round cake on top of a rectangle one and decorated it to look like Thomas from front on, I think it is more special when we do it ourselves.

We are having our boys' birthday party at our house, in the backyard - just a morning tea with about 20-30 people, depending on RSVPs. We will set up tables and chairs and some type of shade.

go to a park to have the party. if it rains you have a shelter and if it doesnt then you have the out doors.

Ya,Im having trouble with this too. I want to have her birthday outside but of course if it rains that ruins it. So,I guess its Grandma' house.Everyone in our area does the Chucky Cheese thing.

We're having Kayden's Birthday at her Great Grandmas house. We wanted to do something outside but we weren't exactly sure how the weather was going to be for kids so we decided there because her house is gorgeous and big enough for all the guests and if the weather permits we can take the kids outside in the backyard for games and activities.

i'm having my son's bday party at my house...at first i wanted to rent a banquet facility but then thought about it and said at home will be free.. i can use the extra money to buy more party stuff. and then its kinda of a double celebration since my birthday is the day before the party and his is 5 days after. kinda of convenient.

I'm squeezing everyone into our relatively small house..Hopefully it will be nice weather and I can have most of the stuff outside..I really wanted my son to be at his house in his environment..Hopefully (fingers crossed) it will cut down on his crankiness because of his being tired.

I also found that the dollar tree or dollar store has great cheap stuff. It has all you need to throw a party with.

Our house won't accommodate everyone so we are having it at our local park. They have a big pavilion that we can set up tables under and the kids have stuff to play on.

if you belong to a church sometimes they let you have a room for free. My father is a mason so I am having my daughters first birthday at his lodge and its free. Its a money savor.
