Who 'wears' their baby? How do you carry him or her?

I'm interested in a baby carrier. My daughter is over the 22 lb limit for the infant carriers, and I'm not sure what to carry her in next. I've seen women wear the side sling (which would work, I think, because I always carry her on my hip) but don't know where to find that. A backpack carrier would work as well, I guess, but would like to get input from those mothers who carry their baby everywhere on how to avoid hurting your back.

Thanks!

I have twins and cannot use a carrier on a regular basis. I do own a Hot Sling which I do use occasionally. You can use for older babies as a hip carrier or a back carrier. It is easy to transport as it folds up and fits in a diaper bag or purse. My friend swears by the Moby wrap.

I love the moby too! I can even wear phoebe playing the double bass :) I should post a pic. It is a great choice for dads too! My boyfriend is 6'7'' and 295lbs and it fits him just as well as it does me. Phoebe is 24 lbs by the way. www.mobywrap.com

Well I've tried 3 different carriers and they all hurt my back until I discovered the Moby Wrap www.mobywrap.com. It's been amazing and it supports up to 35 lbs. It's litteraly a long band of cotton, but it's really light weight and it wraps so many differnt ways, hip carry, backpack, swaddle, lotus (baby faces away from u) The first couple times u wrap it, it's a little cumbersom just learning how to tie it & how tight u need it, but I wore it on the plane & had no problems with it and it comes in a bunch of different colors, fabrics, & styles. Sorry if I sound like a rep for the product, I just fell in love with it. But good luck, hope u find what ur looking for. Oh by the way....there is even YouTube video of how to wrap and put baby in it.
