My 6 month old daughter is fantastic at falling asleep in her cot and i can put her down awake and let her fall asleep on her own for day time naps and night time sleep no problem. But when we are out and about it is a different story.... She just gets so distracted and there is far too much going on for her to be able to switch off and have a nap in her buggy. I then find that she gets over tired and cranky. Does anyone have any tips that will help me help her???? I have tried putting buggy in all the reclining positions, giving bottle to help her relax and bringing her blanky comforter but i think she is far too nosey!! Even tried putting blanket over hood of buggy to help her switch off but she just screamed!!! Any advise much appreciated

She's doing really well now..... thinkl she's just a nosey little thing!! As soon as I put a post up on here she starts to do the opposite. I suppose it's just something that she had to learn to do. Thanks for all your comments. I suppose that sometimes it's nice to hear that other peoples babies are doing similar things!!!

sounds like you tried everything I have tried, giving comfort things from home, and bottle/feed, etc... I find it takes a few mins, but the pushing motion helps to fall asleep when my girl sucks her thumb as sign of being tired, rubs eyes, and the eyes open and close for a few mins before going to sleep.

did she sleep again a second time in the pushchair when you went out again?

My 6 month old daughter always falls asleep while we are driving. When we are at a resturant or shopping we give her one of her stuffed animals or a burp cloth and she covers her face and falls asleep if she is tired. When she was younger we would swing her car seat / carrier and the rocking would help her to fall asleep.
