well im planning a party with just 10 fam and friend not to big cuz jaiden wont remember it just enough for him to move around and play with plenty of food he likes in my house

We were going with Sesame Street but couldn't find the decorations so we settled on Elmo. My goal was to have fun instead of stressing about things being handmade and perfect. It was fun and easy and my son has a crazy freakish love for Elmo lol. We had mac and cheese-one baked and one in the crockpot, veggie platter, fruit platter that resembled Elmo's face, apple cider, and juice boxes. For dessert, cupcakes with little Elmos and carmel apple cheesecake for the adults. My husband made my son a huge smash cake with an Elmo candle. While I was decorating my husband took my son to get balloons. They came back with a giant Elmo balloon and 5 first bday balloons. Each kid took home a balloon and our son of course kept his Elmo :) . We also had little goodie bags with some cheesy little gifts. I didn't think they would go over that well but the kids were all under 5 and LOVED them. We just had family, cousins and 2 close friends but it made up plenty of people. It was a fun and tiring day! Although Christopher did not understand it was his birthday, he had a lot of fun :)

My DS will be 1 in 2 days (21st) and we are just having a family gathering. He is much too young to remember anything. His cake will be Dukes of Hazzard styles... if I can magange it with everything else this busy household throws at me LOL

My baby wont turn 1 until april so i have some way to go! i have been thinking of doing a disney theme and just having some family over for a small gathering at my house. So most people there are family but a few of my close friends have babies around 1 so they will be coming with the rest of their kids!

iv finally decicded wha im goin to do for my 1 year old!! iv been planning for months {3 months tobe exact } i just want to make da day special for him to look back on as it is his first bday i no he wont remember but i will n hel never relive dat special moment nor will i!!! iv organised a clown to come n greet all da children n play games n make balloons and all different kinda stuff also bob da builder n winnie da pooh will be makin an appearence for lodsa pics with my boy he loves dem im so exciited n hope hes day will be really special!! really hope it turns out well will let ye no hpw it goes!! :)

MAke your own ball pit and fill a room full of balloons!!! That's what I'm going to do.

my daughter will be 1 on the 21st of october and we have a small costume party planned. since there will be small children who can't really play games i got the party for only and hour and a half and all the kids are going to dress up in costume...i have a halloween background so to get some pics of the kids for the parents and then the kids can play on the floor for a bit and then we are having pizza and cake and then they get to go home. instead of loot bags i have halloween buckets filled with a book for each child..some cheesies and marshmellow candie...stickers and a halloween flash light and non toxic halloween face crayons...he bday invatations are hello kitty in a halloween costume and done out on glossy picture paper...sooo totally cute :)

I am sending out invitations with him in his Giraffe halloween costume and doing kind of a halloween/harvest theme with food and fall colors. We are going to serve mac and cheese in the crockpot and pumpkin bread and halloween cupcakes, apple cider, etc...stuff kids like to eat. It will just be family, exetended family and a couple close friends which still makes for quite a few people. My son will be the youngest but there are still quite a few kids so I think we will make some little halloween goodie bags for the kids. My husband is making the cake and my mom is helping out with food. Otherwise, I'm planning on keeping it pretty simple. All I want is my son to be happy on his day :)

I've still got a ways to go before Dexters first bday ( January!) but I've thought about it! Maybe a bubble themed party? Like get plenty of bubbles and a bubble machine and decorate in bubbles etc.!? Ive thought that would be a cute theme and plenty for other kids/people to do too. You could get big rings and tubs of bubbles etc! That might be more of an outdoor party but here in FL oct is Still hot lol. Other ideas would be like a flower theme or something easy that you can still mix up but be flexible! Also a bubble or flower cake would be something easier to make than say a character from a show!

My daughter is turning one on October 1st.. I know everyone says they won't remember, but I plan to take lots of pictures :) We are having her party outside and a bonfire that evening. I'm doing a cheetah print and hot pink / princess theme with fingerfoods, cake of course, and s'mores :) I'm very excited!!

you could do a ball themed party.. using balls of all size, soft of course, or have it a little costume party... for my oldest I did a princess theme for her 1st birthday. Big fancy dress and all..

My daughter is turning 1 on October 4th and I've decided to do a cupcake theme since she's not really old enough to have any favorites yet. I bought a tutu dress that is black, white, and pink (it makes me think of a cupcake for some reason). I'm having some of her 1 year photos done in the dress and making cupcake themed invitations using those photos and the cake for the guests will have a big picture of her in her tutu dress and I'm having a personal cupcake made for her using the same colors as her dress. She is my second daughter and I know she won't remember it but I agree with some of these people that even though she's not going to remember it, you are and it should be something memorable that you can tell her about later and show her pictures and videos of! She will appreciate it whens he gets older! Good luck! I am sure no matter what you do at your daughter's birthday she will have fun!!!

I am doing Mickey's First Birthday in the backyard like a cookout since it ties in with labor day(Sept 3). I am also going to have a pool for him and the kids his age. Also a bouncer for the older kids. I got the theme from birthdaydirect.com but other website also have great themes.

My lil man will be one on October 5 and I've been planning for a month already haha. We are either going to have it at the park or possible at my father in laws house. It is still nice enough weather outside to have it outside which is better. I have to make him his own special cake because he is allergic to milk,eggs,and nuts so I am going to make him a little one and everyone else cupcakes. Weather permitting were gonna cookout. And since he loves elmo I'm using an elmo theme. I know he wont remember it but I will (I know that sounds selfish) and he is my first child and I want it to be great.

Olivia has a good amount of hair. It's long enough to have little pig-tails on top but I'm not brave enough to try.. I would feel terrible if I pulled it too tight & it made her little head hurt :/ It seems like it gets longer every day tho. Her hair is weird because she was born with a head full of coal black hair & it is still dark brown but some days it looks like it is the darkest black there is & some days it looks real light.. almost blonde!

Yes, it is! I only make them for my daughter but occasionally her 18 year old aunt comes & borrows some to wear in her hair lol. I have the only baby girl on both sides of the family so she's got lots of bows & pretty dresses! Hand-made & store bought!

Im already planning my sons first birthday, he will turn 1 on October 1sst! ( childrens day) , im thinking on having Dr. Seuss birthday theme party. Im on a budget but want to make it great !!! Its a big milestone for me and him, and want to make it memorable.....!!! i dont work so im thinnking on giving some tutoring clases from now until October to make some dough.....

That's a very good point. I know that my daughter won't remember any of it but I would still like to do something special/fun because I will remember it. This will be my first child's first birthday and I want it to be great! That may sound selfish to some but the way I see it is you only get one first birthday! And the 1st birthday for your 1st child is not only a big milestone for the child but for the parents as well because you survived your first year of being parents! Anyway, thank you all for sharing with me! I'm sure your babies are going to LOVE whatever you decide to do to celebrate their special day!

For anyone on a budget. Just get or make a cake and get some pictures of your child with it. I just had a supper for any family or friends who wanted to join us for our first son and it gave us the memories to look back on without over spending on something he would not remember. I intend to do the same for my second son too. There will be plenty of time for bigger parties when they are older and will actually remember them.

I'm combining my son and daughters birthdays together since their birthdays are only 2/3 weeks apart. My son is going to be 1 and my daughter is going to be 4. I know that he wont be able to remember it but my daughter will. I'm just having a color themed party (pink black and green) this way with whatever I have left over I can use for my other childrens parties or just use at home. I plan on doing it this way for a couple of years till she's old enough to say that she doesn't want to share her birthday party with her little brother. I do plan on getting them seperate cakes that way they dont have to share the cakes.

I don't know very many people in the town that we live in but most of the people that I do know don't have any kids so there probably won't be many at her party. My little fella is 1 on the 12th October and I am gonna do a little tea party for family and close friends like I did for my daughter's 1st birthday. My little one will be too young to really appreciate a big fancy party so I may as well save the money for a bithday he can remember :)
Besides, he loves his grub so as long as I have plenty of finger foods I am sure he will be delighted :D
