just got home from the Dr at 30 weeks and found out that I'm 1 cm dialated! The doctor said it's because my children were so close together that my cervix might not have closed up all the way after my son! SCARY! Im praying that my poor little body can hold on till im full term!

You can have a second bag of waters too. My friend had her baby 2 months ago, and she had her water break, & they broke another at the hospital. She was 3 weeks early.

yeah I know all of that too... but for some reason she was ok to continue carrying till term.

thats weird usually if ur water breaks u have to have the baby within 24 hours because your no longer carrying a large portion of the amniotic fluid so its not safe for the baby. the risk of infection goes up, and the acidity goes up and obviously they would have to keep replenishing ur fluids bcause the longer the baby goes with no amniotic fluid the more stressed out the baby gets and when the baby gets stressed out its common for meconium (sp) to be in the amniotic fluid which can cause life long breathing problems

A cousin of mine had her water break I think it was between 25 and 30 weeks and held her daughter till almost a week after her due date... Myself, I just found out (at 31 weeks) that my cervix is much thinner than it should be and that baby is head down so I could dialate and go into labour early as well... I think the best thing is to pay attention to your body and hope for the best... and if it happens, well as my husband says, it was probably time (dispite what the doctors say) and in this day, the chances of a normal baby and the survival rates of preterm babies is much higher than in the past.

Well to try and put your mind at ease, with my last pregnancy i was 1 cm dialated from like 22 weeks on. I gave birth earlyat 34 weeks but that was induced because of preclampsia. Just read up on signs of preterm labor and when in doubt go to the hospital. It's better to go just in case. They have a great many ways to try and keep that baby baking longer. :)
